Recording Not Working?

When I want to record something, I press the circle, but nothing happens. I don't know why!

I think the OP means the record button in the sound editor.

(Should've been more specific. Whoops.)Like when you go into the recording sound tab, there's a play button(triangle) a pause button(square) and a recording button(circle). But when I press the recording button nothing happens.

Did you click “Allow” when it asked for permission to use your microphone?

Is it a desktop computer or a laptop? Laptops always have microphones as far as I know.

If your computer doesn't have a microphone, this is probably why.

Here are the steps.

1. Click on the mic icon in the sounds tab.
2. Click on the black circle
3. Pop up appears asking “allow or deny?”
4. You choose “allow”
5. Click on the red circle
6. “Recording” appears in red letters and level meter on left side of sound editor shows a vertical green bar
7. You speak into mic making the green bar bounce
8. Press black square to stop recording
9. Waveform of sound is visible in sound editor

How far did you get?

I tried pressing the black circle but nothing happened. No pop up, no noise, no nothing!

You need a microphone. In case you have one already installed you must enable it in your Operating System settings.
