What Should NOT Go in the "New Scratchers" Forum

Here are reasons why this sticky is less likely to be accepted:

1. Negative - Making more negative stickies isn't going to solve any problems. Instead of making a sticky on what not to do, make one telling people on what to do.
2. Sticky Overload - There are plenty stickies here and this basically takes place of the FAQ.

Think before you act.
Actions speek louder than words.

What Should NOT Go in the "New Scratchers" Forum

I've seen a lot of threads that don't belong in the “New Scratchers” forum going around, so I figured we needed guide about it.

1. Don't Ask for Followers

We all know you want to be recgonised for your work, and followers are fun, but the “New Scratchers” forum isn't the right place to ask. Try in your signature, or on your profile.
2. Don't Spam/Necropost

The same goes with any forum, but this one needs a special reminder. Spam makes it harder for Scratchers to find New Scratchers to welcome, and that's never a good thing. Necroposting has the same result.

3. Don't Create “Introduce Yourself Here!” Posts

New Scratchers are actually more likley to get welcomed if they make their own topic. Plus, it helps keep the forums neater. If you want to help welcome some New Scratchers, look for some threads they made.

4. Don't Make a Guide to Scratch

You may love helping out the community, I do too, but making a guide doesn't help too much. There are already enough helpful guides stickied, we don't need any more. Even if you just REALLY want to help New Scratchers, guides are considered spam because we already have enough. You can help out simply by welcoming some New Scratchers, in fact, that would be great!

Thanks for reading this guide to what NOT to post in the “New Scratchers” forum.

Please let me know if you find any spelling or grammer errors, or know anything I should add to this guide.
Actually, if you want to make a guide on Scratch, you can make a project for the Welcoming Committee! It's a studio just for guides to Scratch!

Signature is under reworking…

Is there a chance for it to be Itopiced?

Currently, I have ~860 posts.
I am a scratcher who used to be really active on the forums 5 or 6 years ago, I basically quit scratch since then but I still check out the website from time to time. Do not expect asap replies because scratch is really at the back of my head

I love reading and writing and Scratch.
**My magical writing studio, if you are into that kinda stuff
**A studio with all my weird animations, I'd love it if you would check them out
Also, if you are having a bad day, try these kitten gifs.
As the scientists say, watching kittens is the best medicine! Yes, of course they say that, why would you doubt me?
Also, go to this unless you have Epilepsy.

The same goes with any forum, but this one needs a special reminder. Spam makes it harder for Scratchers to find New Scratchers to welcome, and that's never a good thing. Necroposting has the same result. You may get an alert if you spam or necropost.

Nice guide! You may want to add something about alerts, just add in what I edited. It's a minor edit, but it still helps.
