I have also seen Interstella 5555! Idk if you REALLY liked it, but if you did then I recommend stuff like Space Symphony Maetel and Emeraldas.
Some of the elements in these anime are similar to those from Interstella 5555, not to mention that the same person who was the visual director for Interstella 5555, was the program creator or inspiration for these two anime.

So yeah, those are my recommendations for you.

I strongly recommend Medabots, butnote that it got taken down on YouTube nor does Crunchyroll have it though. Season 2 is available on YouTube, but it's pretty different from season 1 in a way that not many people like- the conflicts of season 1 has been solved by that point.

The best way I can describe it is it's somewhat like Pokemon in that almost everyone has a robot to fight with, but a) I'm pretty sure it's only one Medabot per person (unless it's the collector guy), b) it has a plot that is built and stuck to all throughout (as opposed to several series where the plots don't always go together), and c) there seems to be a stronger bond between Medabots and their Medafighters than between Pokemon and Trainers.

Anyways, it's like everything I love about robots rolled into one for me. I loved it.

EDIT: Watch with dubs if you can. The voices are a little more fleshed out (though Ikki's and Arika's are REALLY annoying, it's worth it for Metabee and Rokusho).
