it makes me so sad that everyone hated Sticker Star. It wasn't everyone's favorite Thousand Year Door, but Nintendo put just as much work into Sticker Star as TTYD and it's story was just fine! Everyone also hates how you can only use all of your Stickers then you're done for, but that's kind of how it worked on TTYD and the 64. The average jump doesn't do much good, but the badges make you powerful. However, after using all your Badge Points you're done for. It's like your scrapbook space is your BP. The more powerful the badge, the more BP it takes. The more powerful the Sticker, the more space it takes! Not to mention you can already use the Action Command multiple times from the start. The Paper Mario series has been getting better and better, and everyone wants to jump back to the start, little do they know that Nintendo has been using the same technique for years!
Have you played any paper mario game other than sticker star??

Have you read anything except Sticker Star? To ask that you must be JOKING! I mention TTYD and EVEN the 64! You can clearly see I am able to mention feature from those games, including BP and Action Command. And don't think it's not clear to me that they son't have partners anymore, but they just wanted to try something new.
It may be your opinion but sticker star's “story” isn't “fine”. It's basically your usual boring mario story. and I asked if you PLAYED the other games, not heard of them.

I've played TTYD, 64, Super Paper Mario, and Sticker Star. And you gotta have metal stuck in your keyboard to say the story was a basic mario story. REALLY?
Mario 1: peach is kidnapped, you save her. Mario 2 (japan): peach is kidnapped, you save her. Mario 3: peach is kidnapped, you save her. Mario World: peach is kidnapped, you save her. Mario 64: peach is kidnapped, you save her. Mario Sunshine: peach is kidnapped, you save her. Mario Galaxy: peach is kidnapped, you save her. EVERY NSMB game: peach is kidnapped, you save her. Mario Galaxy 2: peach is kidnapped, you save her. Mario 3d land: peach is kidnapped, you save her. Mario 3d world: peach is kidnapped, you save her. Mario and luigi paper jam: peach is kidnapped, you save her.

Super Mario Wiki wrote:

The story starts during the night of the Sticker Fest, where the citizens of Decalburg come to witness the Sticker Comet which is said to make everyone's wishes come true. As Princess Peach, Mario and the Toads celebrate the event, Bowser and his troops suddenly crash the party to claim the Sticker Comet. The Toads try to prevent Bowser from touching it but fail, and the comet breaks into six Royal Stickers, one of which falls on Bowser’s head making him more powerful. Mario tries to attack him, but is overpowered and later wakes up with the Sticker Fest in a disaster: Toads have been stuck everywhere by Bowser, and the Princess missing. After regaining consciousness, Mario meets Kersti, a sticker fairy and the caretaker of the Royal Stickers. After a conversation with her, Mario then suggests that he will help her get the Royal Stickers back, and Kersti finally agrees with him and gives him an album.

Mario starts by freeing the Toads affixed in tape placed by Bowser in the damaged festival, gaining a hammer in the process. After liberating the Toads, Mario heads towards the plaza east of town and discovers the area rolled up. The Toads push to unroll the Plaza and bring it back to normal, accidentally trapping a Green Toad under the fountain in the process. As Mario leaves the town, he gets ambushed by a trio of Goombas. Kersti uses the opportunity to explain how battling foes with stickers work and Mario defeats the Goombas.
So Sticker Star's story in a nutshell: peach is kidnapped, you save her.
Also:
Have you even played Super Mario Sunshine or Super Mario 3D world? The story in Super Mario Sunshine is that Mario, Peach and Toadsworth go on vacation to Isle Delfino, and there is a lot of goop and muck and all that. mario goes to court and gets blamed for it, and has to clean it all up. There is only about ONE sequence where you have to chase after Peach.

In Super Mario 3D World, You have to save little fairies that Bowser steals. Okay, it's similar to the other stories, but you can play as Peach for the entire game.

But since this is a Paper Mario topic, I'll say something about Paper Mario and just let the hate roll in…
I've only played Super Paper Mario and Sticker Star. Frankly, I don't know why people hate them. I'll admit, the story for SS isn't as great as Super, but if we're only judging games based on stories, then let's just give tons of amazing games horrible scores. Sure, games are better if they have good stories and it's not just a generic Peach gets Kidnapped, but as @then64man said, the story of Sticker star is more than just Peach gets kidnapped, you save her. Rant, over.

It looks awesome! I know some people are probably already hating it because they didn't like Sticker Star, but I think it looks really cool!

I love Thousand Year Door. I used to hate Super, but I don't mind it anymore. It was probably because I wasn't able to handle the controls too well at the time. The one thing that still bothers me about Super, though, is that you don't have any of the partners you did in the previous games- that was my favorite part, and simply switching between Mario, Bowser, Peach, etc. and having the fairies doesn't make up for it to me.

Also, I don't know too much about the first one, Sticker Star or the newest one, but I noticed in Thousand Year Door and Super that their story lines were unusually deep (maybe even dark) for Mario games…

Let's make a list of Paper Mario characters that need to return.

Lady Bow.
Tubba Blubba.
Kooper.
Kent C. Koopa.
Whacka.
Koopa Bros.
Jr. Troopa.
Anti Guy
Gourmet Guy.
General Guy.
Huff n Puff.

Dimentio, for sure! (If SPM counts)
And Mr. L.
And Ms. Mowz.
And Bobbery.

Super Paper Mario is my favorite ever game along with Undertale; it has the best story and characters, in my opinion, out of all the games. It led me to a video game crush on Dimentio and a bit on Mr. L.

I HATE Sticker Star with a burning passion, haha.

Hey, you know Nintendo had a discussion with GameXplain, and during that they said that if people are vocal about it, they might make a Paper Mario TTYD remastered? Imagine how that game would look in HD or 3D… There's a petition going on about that, and it's almost reached 1000 supporters!!! I might finally get a chance to play PMTTYD!

Anyways, onto Color Splash…
Have you noticed the background music in the E3 trailer and Nintendo Direct video? It seems that the soundtrack will be just as good (Or maybe even better) than Sticker Star's music! It has the same jazzy theme as SS does.

How about we release the original TTYD on Wii U eShop first, then release the remaster for two/three more dollars? They did that with Super Mario Bros. 3 and the Advance remake.

Thousand Year door was amazing: it still barely is my favorite of the series since the first three games I all find amazing: sticker star I didn't like at all: the only thing I did like was the return of gooper blooper. And the new paper Mario looks to be as good as sticker star so thanks for not giving the fans what they want Nintendo.

They could do that, but I say just put them both on at the same time. That way I wouldn't have to wait longer for the one I want.

I love the Paper Mario games! The N64 version and Super Paper Mario are two of my favorite games. (Along with Kirby's Adventure, Sonic Rush, and Sonic Colors.) I have not played Thousand Year Door or Color Splash though.

I think a game with the Classic Formula, Super's formula, or a mix of both would be a great game that we will never get because the creator of Mario doesn't want a game like that.

Color Splash has hope based off of what GameXplain said.
Each level is a mini-adventure they said, you won't get lost as often and the game isn't as cryptic they said, the game brims with personality they said. I hope I get Color Splash for Christmas.

Well, that escalated quickly.

Then it turns out that Piper is still alive and well. (I'm stuck on the final boss fight.)
