"Venting".
I get that people vent to get their feelings out and in turn, receive support.
We have all vented, whether it be crystal clear, like an animation, or quiet and unheard, like a comment.
But it's becoming a problem.
I came to Scratch at age 7, searching for new opportunity and to learn coding.
I learned a lot.
I learned how to make games, animations, even art.
But I also learned some things that weren't very appropriate for me at the time.
I learned about mental illnesses, insanity, even suicide.
I vent on Scratch, it's true.
Once I made a project with a message to my friend, and that was a vent.
But it was only meant for her.
Let me just put it this way:
Scratch isn't a place for venting.
If you'd like to vent, go vent on YouTube, DeviantArt, or better, an actually venting website, like Muttr.
There are little kids here.
Heck, I'm not even past 13 yet.
I'm 10.
And this has trashed my mind, my spirit, my liking for Scratch.
“Hey, you could've made this a while ago.”
You say.
You're right.
But I didn't, because I wasn't that inclined to do this back then.
But you know what set me off?
There was a vent project.
And an 8-year-old was in the comments asking, “why do you hurt yourself?”
And no one's going to listen to this.
There are countless #StopTheVent projects, conversations, studios, and more.
But there's no stopping this vent.
I'm trying to find another fun kids website, maybe if I can find a nice coding website like Scratch, that would be good.
Because this has made me so upset.
Sorry for wasting your time.
Thank you for reading.

I'm sorry you had some upsetting experiences on Scratch. Whenever you see stuff that you feel is too intense for Scratch, please let the Scratch Team know, by clicking on the Report button on the project or comment - or by using the Contact Us button for more complicated stuff. We do take this sort of thing very seriously and try to keep Scratch appropriate for all ages. We hope that all Scratchers will keep that in mind when they share stuff on Scratch.
