Game: Persona 4
Consoles: PlayStation 2 (original), PlayStation Vita (The Golden)
Genres: (J)RPG, Mystery
Story: There's a mysterious case of serial murders going around in the small town of Inaba, and an urban legend about “The Midnight Channel”, an occurance when the TV will turn itself on at midnight on rain nights. Oddly enough, the TV seems to display the next victim of the murders. It turns out there is a world inside the TV in which monsters called Shadows live, and it's where the victims are getting thrown. You assume the role of high schooler Yu Narukami; he and his friends are able to wield Personas which form after they face their true selves.
What I liked about it: The 2D cutscenes in Golden edition are gorgeous and high quality. All of the characters are so charming that's it's near impossible to pick a favorite one. The characters all feel so real, as if they're my friends. (Even though I can't pick a favorite, I chose Chie to be my girlfriend, so that's gotta mean something.) The gameplay is excellent. There are no annoying random encounters like in other RPGs, and while grinding is required on a few occasions, it's not constant and it's rewarding when your grinding is done. I found myself getting so attached to the characters and gripping story that if the Vita's bright screen never came close to burning my eyeballs, I probably would've played for unhealthily long sessions. Thanks Sony for making the Vita's screen so bright. No sarcasm either because it makes the 2D cutscenes absolutely amazing. Also, just because it's a murder mystery, don't expect it to be dark and grisly. It's actually mostly lighthearted and there's tons of funny dialogue. I rate with words and not numbers, so I hands down obviously recommend you pick this one up.
Edit: Note that golden edition has seven different endings, and the original has six. Today I finished my first play through and I got one of the bad ones.

Title: Splatoon
Developer: Nintendo
Publisher: Nintendo
Price: $59.99
Release Date: May 29, 2015
Platform: Wii U
87/100 (Great)

Story: The story is that the giant zapfish, the city's main source of power, has been stolen and it's up to you to find it. You meet Captain Cuttlefish and work together to defeat the evil Octarians. That's for the single player campaign. The multiplayer is the main point of the game, but the only story it really has is that you're doing turf wars because they became popular among young folk after an actual war…

Presentation: The music in this game. All the music is catchy, and fun, and really fits whatever situation you're in. The graphics look really nice and accompany this game well. All of the different characters, are unique and memorable, from a shy anemone with a jerky clown fish in their hair, to a sea urchin that illegally sells clothes. They even have retro style games to play while you're waiting for a multiplayer match.

Gameplay: The gameplay in single player consists of you defeating octarians by shooting ink at them, as well as taking down several bosses, and shooting windmills and sponges and such to progress. The gameplay of multiplayer, however, is all about covering more of the ground with your ink than the other team. You'll find that there are some maps that you're really good at, to some maps that you absolutely stink at. Once you get to level ten, then you unlock ranked battles, and that opens up even more gameplay options. There are two different maps for each mode, and a specific mode for ranked battles until the daily reset at 2PM PST. There are TONS of weapons in this game, and even more clothes. With each piece of clothing comes an upgrade to your character, so just mix and match until you find what's best for you. One more thing, there is an event called a Splatfest every month, where players pick a side, and battle each other to get wins for their side. All of this and more is in Splatoon.

Lasting Appeal: Splatoon is good for pretty long. Unfortunately if you don't really like it the first time or consistently lose, you may lose interest pretty quickly.

Verdict: It's one of those things where, if it looks fun to you, then I suggest you get it. If it's something that looks boring, then I suggest you just pass on this one. Either way Splatoon is a fantastic game and probably one of the best on the Wii U!

Title: Dwarf Fortress
Developer: Bay 12 Games (or rather, two guys from Bay 12 Games)
Publisher: Bay 12 Games
Price: Free (forever and ever and ever…)
Platform: PC/Mac/Linux (and maybe some fan ports to Android)
Rating: No official ESRB rating, but I would give it E10+/T
Release Date: August 8, 2006 (although it's been developed much longer than that)

Synopsis: Dwarf Fortress is an INCREDIBLY complex game in which you control a band of dwarves setting out to create a new life for themselves. You can use a variety of workshops, tools, and crafts to shape the game. And believe it or not, by pressing < or >, there's different z-levels. That's right, this text-based game is in 3D.

Personal ESRB rating: Between E10+ and T for Teen for Violence/Gore, and Alcohol.
The game is incredibly detailed, it will tell you EXACTLY what injuries a dwarf has from battle (down to “this part is torn in half and etc. etc. etc….”). This is part of the game, although there are no graphics, so it's not too severe, but still there nonetheless.
Your dwarves drink alcohol, and they become unhappy when they don't have it. Still, the only influence the players have is by brewing it from fictional plants.

Story: No story, at least that I can tell. You embark from the mountains to set up a new life in a fortress you create. The regions generated, however, may have random artifacts. (No rating because unclear)

Art/Graphics: The graphics are text-based using Extended ASCII (which has ö, a smiley face, and a few others.) They are still, however, amazingly good. As mentioned above, players can use < and > to go up and down into underground areas where they can dig. The game shows trees, ramps, stairs, floors, ores, items, and dwarves, all with only text. There are also mods that add graphical tiles. (10/10, the graphics go above and beyond any text-based game I've seen)

Gameplay: There's no right way to play. You can base your economy off of mining, or textile farming, or food production. You can smelt down metals, or cook plants, go exploring in caverns, use magma, defend from invaders… The game is pretty infinite.
The one thing about this game is there is no winning. That's the motto - losing is fun! However, even when you lose, you still make an interesting story, and your fortress's ruins are saved to the region for all to see (well, just you when you play later.) (10/10)

Replayability: INFINITE. It took me 2 fortresses to get anywhere near a functioning fort. That was quickly destroyed by some werebeasts infecting others within my fort. I'm on number 4 which I reclaimed from another civilization generated when I made my region. Even still, I can always make another region which has a whole new layout of history and terrain. (11/10, you will never run out)

Final Verdict:
11/10 - Amazingly detailed.

It's on version 0.43.02 - which means that it's 43.02% of the way to simulating life. No joke!
Definitely something I can't fully explain here, so go check it out! It's free!

Hey, I started a topic similar to this. Can we merge all the reviews?
P.S. I also have a menu that organizes the reviews alphabetically, so I think we should add that in.

MINECRAFT

This game is amazing!! It is sort of like Terraria because this game is a virtual world game.

Basically you control a character around a “world” and you can build and break anything. It is a sandbox / survival game. I love all the freedom it gives you! It is sooooo much fun!!

10/10

bumping is when u push the topic up to the top of the page so more people can view, thus ‘bumping’ the topic. U won't believe how many times i had to bump a regular show topic.

Title:The Crew
Devoper:Ivory Tower and Ubisoft Reflections
Publisher:Ubisolft
Release date: December 2nd 2014
Platform: Xbox One/360, PC, PS4
Rating: 85/100
Story: Starts out slow but gets better as you progress.
Presentation: The voice acting and frame rate is good. Graphics are amazing in some places but meh in others. The music is good
Gameplay; Very good for a racing game. For the most part cars control well most of the time.
Lasting appel: A 40 hour story mode, hours of open world game play and new updates means that you will have a hard time running out of stuff to do.
verdict:A Perfect game. Exept for the fact that at times your car preforms poorly, even if it's above the recommended level and the A.I can be bad at times. The graphics can be meh and most take down, getaway and city missions are mid core at best and unfair at worst.
If you want to check out the offcial topic for this game than check this thread out The Crew

Game: Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire
Made by: Game Freak, The Pokemon Company, Nintendo
Release Date: (Will add in once I know)
Platform: Nintendo 3DS
Rating: 10/10
Story: You are a trainer who just moved in Littleroot Town, and you want to go on a Pokemon journey. On your journey you have to stop Team Magma/Team Aqua (Depends on the game you have) and, that's pretty much it?
What I thought of it: The game was just amazing, the best Pokemon game I have ever played out of all the Pokemon games I have. The story was amazing!

Name: Pokemon X/Y
Type: RPG
Console: 2DS/3DS

Pokemon Y is a game where you have to go an adventure to become Pokemon League Champion, catch 720 Pokemon (if its possible- IT"S NOT!!!) and defeat the bad guys (Team Flare) during that time.

The graphics are amazing. The game is in 3D. The music is sometimes good but sometimes a bit boring or weird.

You'll encounter new Pokemon wherever you go for example Eevee can be found in one route but dedenne would be found somewhere else, one route could have pidgeys, the next could have flabebes. You can catch all Pokemon with your pokeballs! Going through the game is easy but fun with Pokemon Amie and Super Training (Things to upgrade your Pokemon). You will beat gyms, which will be pretty easy, but fun. If you don't like battling or the idea of catching Pokemon in small balls, this game isn't for you.

This game isn't repetative, but after you win Pokemon League Champion, there are few quests you may do. The funnest part of the game is probably the Looker part at the end.

Pokemon games are often hard sometimes on your first go. Everybody gets stuck on their first Pokemon game unless they have guidance from a more experienced player. So unless you know somebody really well who played this game, this game will be tough for you. After the first time, you'll get through easily, but please be aware that you could get stuck.

Overall, I give it an 8.5/10

Name: Team Fortress 2
Developer: Valve Corporation
Publisher: Valve Corporation
Released: October 9, 2007
Platforms: PC, Mac OS, Linux, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3
Cost: Free
Genre: First-Person Shooter (FPS)
Rating: 8.5/10
Age Rating (ESRB): M17+

Review:

Team Fortress 2 is a free, team-based, class-based, first-person shooter developed by Valve Corporation released in October 2007 originally for PC with Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, Mac OS and Linux ports being launched after the game's release. The game features action-packed combat with an array of unlockable weapons and cosmetics to choose from, with players forming loadouts with these weapons and cosmetics. The 9 classes: Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, and Spy allow for in-depth gameplay and team strategy. It features many gamemodes along with casual and competitive matches/settings for players. The soundtrack is enjoyable, however not one I'd listen to on a daily basis. The game is also free-to-play and can be played without spending any money, however there are microtransactions and players do get some benefits (such as a larger inventory) by buying Premium. (nothing game-changing however.)

However, the game isn't really Scratch-friendly. It contains strong violence (can be turned off) and some mature language. The community also isn't really Scratch-friendly, with swears and other mature language being thrown around a lot. A lot of players describe the community as bad. Team strategy isn't really a viable option either unless you're playing in a more competitive environment with experienced players.

The game also contains bugs and some balancing issues/useless weapons. Plus, Valve hasn't really listened to the community all that much lately.

Pros/Cons:
Pros:
+Enjoyable gameplay, however it can be rage-inducing at times
+Decent graphics, however they are getting a bit dated (since it is a 2007 game, after all…)
+Good sound, enjoyable music
+Decent stability, however the game does have bugs, balancing issues, and performance issues

Cons:
-Gameplay can be rage-inducing at times
-Graphics are getting dated
-Mostly bad community
-Bugs, balancing issues, and performance issues can disrupt gameplay

Conclusion:

Gameplay: 9/10 (Great)
Graphics: 6/10 (Okay)
Sound/Music: 8/10 (Good)
Community: 2/10 (Terrible)
Stability: 7/10 (Decent)

Total: 8.5/10 (Good)

Sonic the Hedgehog CD
Developer(s) Sonic Team, Christian “Taxman” Whitehead (2011 remaster)
Publisher(s) SEGA

Sonic CD is interesting game. It was released a year after Sonic 2 in 1993 for the SEGA CD add-on, and was notable for being one of the first console video games to have full, high quality audio and animated cutscenes. It also had a unique time traveling mechanic and more exploration-based levels, along with the signature speed that Sonic is known for. This is a review of the 2011 remaster, which is almost the same but has a few key differences.

I'm too lazy to do any organized writing, so here's a pros/cons list:

Pros
+Smooth, fast gameplay. In the 2011 port, there's no slowdown whatsoever on all of the platforms.
+Beautiful pixel art with no reused assets for any of the rounds, save for a few enemies here and there.
+An innovative time travel that mechanic that has Past, Present, Good Future and Bad Future rendition of every zone in the game.
+Two soundtracks! There's the hyperactive, somewhat dance style music of the JP soundtrack, and the super-atmospheric style in the US version.
+The same creative boss fights you would expect from Sonic Team.
+A sound test mode where you can listen to the amazing soundtrack, with some… interesting… easter eggs.
+In the 2011 port, Tails is unlockable. He plays exactly like in Sonic 3.
+Metal Sonic. That's all that needs to be said.
+Amazingly animated full motion video cutscenes for both the credits and the opening.
+Just generally the dark atmosphere for the Bad Futures in contrast with the hopeful ones in the Good Futures.

Cons
-In the 2011 remaster version, the vocals are missing from the opening and ending themes for copyright reasons.
-In the original version, the spindash mechanic is somewhat tacked on and doesn't work like the Sonic 2 version. This is fixed in the 2011 remaster.

Final score: 98% (10/10)

Mario Party: Island Tour 40/100 (Unsatisfactory)

Did anyone like the idea of party games before Mario Party 1 released? Maybe the N64 friendship obliterator was the first party game released, I'm not sure, I'm not that kind of person who knows how to do research. But I'm pretty if you take a look at any party game released (other than Mario Party obviously) nowadays, I'm guessing you'll be infuriated by the cheap cash-grab that is Amiibo Festival and you'll baffled by the mere existence of Shrek's Carnival Craze for the Wii.

My point is that the Mario Party games are probably the most respected games in the party game genre. And yes, people did enjoy the series until Nd Cube showed up to do the “dirty work”, I suppose. People hated the infamous car characters travelled around with in MP 9 & 10, and while Island Tour didn't include the notorious vehicle, it wasn't a good thing. For me it definitely wasn't a good thing. Why remove the car if the boards are still as linear as ever? I will never know.

I think of Island Tour as a recycled MP9, borrowing some of the sounds, designs and music tracks. The minigames feel bland and uninventive, and while the boards did have a trace of creativity, I got bored very quickly. Maybe because I am a loner and I couldn't get anyone to play with me, but you still need your game to be good even if you are going solo. I played other Mario Party games before, alone, and they amused me. So why can't Island Tour do the same?
