Mario Kart Wii! (Official Thread)
Here, talk about your favorite tracks, records, glitches and easter eggs in the game, and pretty much anything relating to MKWii.
I got a lap on DK Summit of about 52 seconds. If anybody wants to see the replay, here's a Dolphin savestate.

I wanted this game when I was younger.
Back when I actually used my Wii and the only game I had there was that dang hard New Super Mario Bros Wii.

The glitch where you can use the same character for both Player 1 and Player 2 was fun. We exploited that a lot.

Yeah, I managed to beat all the Nintendo Fast Staff Ghosts, Toad's factory was one of the last ones to get beaten. I think Rainbow Road was the last.ooh, a new post! i haven't beaten many of the ghosts yet haha but I did do quite a bit of time trial grinding on SNES Ghost Valley 2, so I'll check my best lap time for you when I get the chance This is an old topic, but WHO CARES? Sadly, I can't do some of the glitches and shortcuts in tracks like the Mario Circuit Wall Clip or the Maple Treeway Ultra shortcut.
I can do the Coconut Mall Ultra Shortcut or the Grumble Volcano Ultra Shortcut.
I think I have a 57.___ on SNES Ghost Valley 2. Do you have Custom Tracks?

I can't believe this exists! I have so much to say about this game, which is one of my favorite Wii games. The only part of it I hate (I know it's a strong word, but it fits for this scenario) is how Error Code 20110 exists, which means there is no longer any legal way to play online. Now I'm just limited to watching this to see what it looked like. (It's kind of like Mario Kart 7 online, but for the Wii.)
I could also share some of my track times if anybody wants to know.

I've never seen Error 20110 before, then again, I never played the game when the first servers were up. A question for everyone: Do you have custom tracks? I can't believe this exists! Also, either someone was hacking in that vid or there is something I don't know. Why Koopa Troopa Standard Kart S. Why not go for Koopa Troopa Bullet Bike if you want to go with the same character?

Error Code 20110 is basically just Nintendo saying that they disabled Nintendo WFC/WiiConnect24, meaning that you can no longer play online without installing a type of software that isn't allowed. As it said in the title—although you couldn't see in the Scratch YouTube video player—the video was published on the last day Mario Kart Wii Online was active. I'm not sure about the kart selection, though; maybe they just felt like choosing it.legal way to play online. Now I'm just limited to watching this to see what it looked like. I don't have any custom tracks because I don't really want to risk losing almost 10 years of data on my Wii. Although, I've definitely watched this playlist before which shows a lot of custom tracks.

really? how? do you use an emulator? You don't need it. I don't have it and have CTGP
without installing a type of software that isn't allowed.you mean third-party software like RiiConnect24? because RiiConnect24 isn't not allowed. in fact, the entire homebrew channel is legal–it's just modding your wii, and nintendo can't really do much about that besides voiding your warranty. it's only when you start pirating games that things become shady/enter the illegal realm. Even though it is legal in that case, I don't want to take the risk, and I'm not sure how big the online community is after the Wii Shop Channel got disconnected. The only online game I can think of that I have is Mario Kart Wii., but I don't think there are too many other games that can even be played online.without installing a type of software that isn't allowed.you mean third-party software like RiiConnect24? because RiiConnect24 isn't not allowed. in fact, the entire homebrew channel is legal–it's just modding your wii, and nintendo can't really do much about that besides voiding your warranty. it's only when you start pirating games that things become shady/enter the illegal realm. No, I play custom tracks on a normal Wii with an SD Card with the files on it (If you use an emulator, which one?). really? how? do you use an emulator?
Even with CTGP, it creates a new thing on the menu, and includes new data, not erasing your old data (I had to play the normal game rather than CTGP to get the SNES Ghost Valley 2 time). I don't have any custom tracks because I don't really want to risk losing almost 10 years of data on my Wii. Although, I've definitely watched this playlist before which shows a lot of custom tracks.

yeah CTGP is super easy to get (all wii mods are easy to get) and use, and it didn't do anything to my Wii U.No, I play custom tracks on a normal Wii with an SD Card with the files on it (If you use an emulator, which one?). really? how? do you use an emulator?Even with CTGP, it creates a new thing on the menu, and includes new data, not erasing your old data (I had to play the normal game rather than CTGP to get the SNES Ghost Valley 2 time). plus it has tons of new tracks, which is great since if you're like me you've played the normal tracks dozens of times. A lot of them aren't that good, but there are some really good ones
