You need a browser for your iPad that supports Flash.

Puffin is one such app.

I think the reason it won't work on iPad is because tablets normally don't support Adobe Flash Player

You can comment and use the forums using ipad. However you can't make and view projects without a browser such as puffin that supports Adobe flash player. The site was not designed for tablets though so it may be a bit glitchy. The st is working on a app now though and there have been several 3rd parties who made apps for scratch but it is riskey downloading them.

Scratch will not work on the iPad unless you install Adobe Flash Player. You can also install Scratch 1.4 to your iPad and it'll work. I'm actually on an iPad right now.
