I created a new project with only the cat sprite and I put these scripts in it to test:



As you can see, if you add a slight delay to the script, it works better.

With the delay added, deleting a clone allows more clones to be created. You just can't have more than 300 active clones at a time.

In early Feb., I have made an analysis for clone creation within different conditions. You confirm the conclusions I made.
What I have also shown is that the clones are created evenly between sprites and that you can set a different id for each of them.

well, when you delete the clone, you should substract 1 from it, so really you never have more than one clone :p

when green flag clicked
repeat (300)
wait (WHATEVER!!!) secs
create clone of [myself v]

The number of sprites is per project, not per sprite and as far as I'm aware is still 301. Have you actually created a project with more than 301 clones? Let us see it if so.

Not unless there's a bug - in which case you should file a report. There's a strict upper limit of 300 on the number of clones we allow to be in existence.
