Scratch For Nintendo 3DS
You've never heard of a Nintendo 3DS? I'm not sure what a Nintendo 3DS is, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a cursor or keyboard…
A Nintendo DS (also known as just DS) is a handheld portable game console with a body that flips open to reveal two screens (one touchscreen) along with some standard game controller controls, like a button pad and a mini joystick. A 3DS is a version of the DS that can display in 3D.
Here is a picture of a 3DS- https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/G/01/videogames/detail-page/vg.hh.01.lg.jpg

No support. The scratch team should focus on the html5 version. and hopefully newer gaming consoles can run html5 better.

It could be possible… I mean if they made Poptropica for the 3DS, then they could make SCRATCH for the ‘'’new''' Nintendo 3DS

No support, not sure how this would work + ST has no funding/good reason to port it to 3DS

Gosh how I wish this were a thing.
Unfortunately, unless Nintendo takes notice of Scratch as a good way to sell 3DS systems and pays to develop it themselves, I don't see this happening… Which stinks.

No Support.
1. Kids can easily stay up late when they should be asleep to do Scratch!
2. We can't get Scratch on every device. We just can't. The ST doesn't have the time.

Wha? By the logic of your first point, lots of things shouldn't be made! I wouldn't want paper and pemcils banned. No Support.

Poptropica is some trash MMO game for kids.
Scratch is a fully fledged programming language.
Do I see some overruling here?

Drawing or writing could be addictive. They could be misused. And what of the 3DS' library of games? Ban all of those so kids can't stay up late with them? It's not the job of the designer to babysit the user. If you make poor choices, that's on you. Scratch is not designed with addictive components in mind. I would agree with you in the case of games like Farmville, where addiction is the name of the game and I believe the designers should take blame for addicting users, but Scratch is not that kind of program. Scratch is designed responsibly, and so the user must also be responsible with how they use it.Do kids these days know what a pencil is? As a hobbyist game designer, I'm particular about avoiding nasty addictive practices and I pay attention to where you find them. I very much disapprove of programs designed to addict. I share your concerns when it comes to design, but I will defend Scratch as being no more addictive than any other responsibly designed program.

You can do that on the internet anyway. Plus, you would need internet connection to even play it. I don't think that would happen. Someone can just make Super Mario Bros. and people will play that instead of buying it from Nintendo.
Also, I've never heard of being able to play a full NES game on scratch.

Sorry guys, but I don't see this happening. Scratch runs in Adobe Flash/Adobe Air. Unless someone can figure out how to run Adobe Air apps on a 3DS, then the ST would have to completely rewrite Scratch, something that they don't have time for.
I know that the 3DS/2DS has a web browser, wouldn't that work?

Although this is old, I feel the need to point out that Nintendo is still making money off of Mario Maker, as it's their product. And why would Nintendo release Mario Maker if that were a concern? You can do that on the internet anyway. No support. Nintendo 3DSs are getting outdated quite quickly (if anything, a Nintendo Switch, or any other console or mobile device, would be better and it's getting an internet browser soon), and the control scheme will be difficult to work with. Also, Nintendo is VERY strict on their copyright laws; I don't think that allowing access to Scratch to play an infinite amount of their own old games would be a very good idea.

However I do agree with 2.
