Welcome to Homestuck Fanon RP!

As the title suggests, this is an RP based on a popular webcomic, Homestuck!

The webcomic revolves around four teenagers playing a video game that kinda takes place in real life, one person being the server host, the other being the server player. The server player can “see” the host, in their house, and can modify the host's surroundings, like how big the room is. Later, the host will get a kernelsprite, which they must “prototype” twice in order for the battlefield to evolve and to get a spirit guide. Getting a kernelsprite will start a countdown, and when it ends the host will be transported to the Medium. If this is too confusing, you will find out more later.

For those who have read Homestuck, we will not be roleplaying trolls just yet. Maybe once we have more members.
For those who have not read Homestuck, it has frequent coarse language and blood, so it is not for kids. May not be appropriate for all people on Scratch.

This roleplay is going to have a more unique application form. In fact, you could hardly call it an application form, more like a brief description of your character. Kinda like the way most characters have been introduced in the canon Homestuck. For example, here is John Egbert's description:

Your name is JOHN. As was previously mentioned it is your BIRTHDAY. A number of CAKES are scattered about your room. You have a variety of INTERESTS. You have a passion for REALLY TERRIBLE MOVIES. You like to program computers but you are NOT VERY GOOD AT IT. You have a fondness for PARANORMAL LORE, and are an aspiring AMATEUR MAGICIAN. You also like to play GAMES sometimes.

Here's Dave Strider's description:

Youe name is DAVE. It is an UNSEASONABLY WARM April day. Your BEDROOM WINDOW is open to let some air in, and your FAN is cranked. Arguably even more cranked would be your FLY BEATS, which brings us to your variety of INTERESTS. A cool dude like you is sure to have plenty. You have a penchant for spinning out UNBELIEVABLY ILL JAMS with your TURNTABLES AND MIXING GEAR. You like to rave about BANDS NO ONE'S EVER HEARD OF BUT YOU. You collect WEIRD DEAD THINGS PRESERVED IN VARIOUS WAYS. You are an AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER and operate your own MAKESHIFT DARKROOM. You maintain a number of IRONICALLY HUMOROUS BLOGS, WEBSITES, AND SOCIAL NETWORKING PROFILES. And if the inspiration strikes, you won't hesitate to drop some PHAT RHYMES on a mofo and REPRESENT.

Here's Kanaya Maryam's description: (though it is recommended to write a description of your character that is shorter)

Your name is KANAYA MARYAM.

You are one of the few of your kind who can withstand the BLISTERING ALTERNIAN SUN, and perhaps the only who enjoys the feel of its rays. As such, you are one of the few of your kind who has taken a shining to LANDSCAPING. You have cultivated a lush oasis around your hive, and in particular, you have honed your craft through the art of TOPIARY, sculpting your trees to match the PUFFY ORACLES from your dreams. You have embraced the tool of this trade, which conveniently is the weapon of choice for those who would hunt the HEINOUS BROODS OF THE UNDEAD which crawl from the sand at sunrise to feast on the light and the living.

It would be convenient if you actually hunted them, but it is of course far too dangerous, every bit as suicidal as attempting to poach the terrible MUSCLEBEASTS who roam at night. So you indulge in your bright fascination with the grim through literature. You know the ruins and the hive and everything here that is not sand and rock originated from the world of your dreams. You also know that one day you will visit this world while you are awake. That day is today.


As you can see, the “application form” refers to your character as “you” often, and capitalizes key words. But there are still some things we must know.

Associated colour: (can be anything, your favourite colour or something like that)
Title: _______ of _______ (see here for examples) (If you don't want to come up with a title I can do it for you)
Dream Self: (must be either Prospit or Derse. (If you don't want to decide on a dream self I can do it for you)
Screen Name: (two words only, must only be two words e.g. ectoBiologist, or tentacleTherapist) (If you don't want to come up with a screen name I can do it for you)

Once your description and second form have both been accepted by either me or another admin, you can start role-playing in the studio linked on the top of this post!
