Oh. Some people even made accounts that follow every single person they see or they do follow for follow. So, not everyone thinks it is bad, but most do.

Well no, it is a bad idea to post “hey please follow for follow” on somebody's profile, as many people consider it spam, because it basically is. You're likely to irritate people if you *ask* people to F4F, but it's perfectly fine to follow someone for no reason other than that they followed you.

Okay examples of F4F:

Hi, Bob! I'm Joe from school and since we're best friends, I think it's best we followed each other. I've already followed you.

Following is so you get updates on what people are doing, and I think best friends would be interested in each others' projects. This is fine.

Not only is the grammar terrible (things like this do tend to occur on profiles like griffpatch), but they just asked for a follow back. Uh, what if I'm not interested in your projects? Why should I follow you just for following me?

There is NO problem with following your followers in my opinion. But don't just follow them for following you - follow them for making cool projects, or happening to like a lot of the same books/movies/games as you, or maybe because you want to be friends. Or in a lot of cases, all three! Just don't ask for someone to follow you unless they're your real life friend and you are 99% sure they will be interested in your projects. Don't hit up strangers for follows: I've never done that and I have more than 250 followers.
