WeDo 2.0 and Scratch
The latest info I could find states that Scratch 2 will be developed for the new LEGO WeDo 2.0 and ready for Macs in February, PCs in June. Does anyone on the Scratch team read this discussion? I would love to find out more about the Scratch team's plans to develop extensions that will allow communication with the WeDo 2.0 kits.

WeDo 2.0 and Scratch
If you're talking about Scratch 2.0, that came out in May 2013. No, I am asking about a version of Scratch to support WeDo 2.0 (new version) that just came out.

Here is the answer I took before some minutes from ceebee*:
@nikmavr Hi there. The first version of the LEGO WeDo 2.0 extension will be released in February 2016 and will work on the Mac platform only. The Windows version will be available later in 2016

Any idea when “later in 2016” will be? I am contemplating purchasing the WeDo 2.0s for our summer camps which primarily use Scratch.
Thx!

I've been using the new WeDo 2.0 sets. It is great using bluetooth instead of USB. Now I would love to go back to using scratch like I did with the old sets. I know the Mac support was supposed to be in February. Does anyone know how far along this is? Did I miss the February release supporting this?

Is there any news about the date that the compatibility of Scratch 2.0 offline over Windows 10 and Lego Wedo 2.0 will be completed?
Thank you very much

The (unofficial) S2Bot extension now supports WeDo 2.0 use with Scratch 2.0 on Windows (including old versions like XP and 7), Mac, Linux and also Chromebook.

You may need a BLED112 USB dongle for the bluetooth low energy connectivity, this is the same dongle that LEGO use with their own brand Windows software.

Hi, if my laptop with W10 already has BLE, do I still need a BLE dongle?
When will it be released the Windows support for Lego WeDo 2.0 (the oficial versión from Scratch)?
thanks

I have problems connecting the wedo 2 to my laptop with windows 10 and bled112. When open bluetooth settings and activate it, the system does not recognize the lego brick. I have updated de firmware of the dongle.
Any idea, please?

Hi biloga,
I have the same problem more or less. But in my case, Wedo 2 does connect fine with the Lego software with which you can code using icons. Did you try that? But I don't get a connection with Scratch, even though I did install the extension of Scratch.

Hi Biloga,
please check out this forum post. I finally got my Wedo 2 running with Scratch after following the instructions in this post:

Hope it works for you too!
Greetings!
