There's clearly an “original project” button shown in the corner of a remix, stop asking for credit if you already HAVE CREDIT!

That is true that it automaticly gives the original project credit, it is nice that you acknowledge the original creator that you got some inspriation from them.

No kidding, you are literally forced to have a button saying that you edited someone elses project, and that you did not create it!

3. It's nice to know that the remixer thought of you when creating the project.

No support. How would you feel if someone remixed a project that you spent 15 hours on, and didn't change anything or give you credit? Try to put yourself in someone else's shoes. You worked really hard on a project, and someone remixed and acted like they made the whole thing. How would that make you feel? Bad, right? It's nice if you acknowledge the creator of the project, not ignore them, like @wayyyy said.

It is part of the community guidelines. Technically, if you don't give credit, you are breaking the rules, and you could easily get reported. For example, one of the kids at my school did this, and look what happened to him. He also got his account blocked. You don't want that to happen to you, do you? Give credit.

Basically, what I'm saying is this is not the best idea, because not giving credit is considered plagiarism. Also, if you don't give credit, you could get in trouble with the Scratch Team.

If people care so much the developer could always hide a script that creates a text box that says original by (name) and hide the command blocks under others

We know that it's there, but it is not okay to not add credit. People need t learn that before they're sued for it in 25 years. Other websites don't have automatic credit.

You know that they teach people not to do that in school, scratch IS NOT RESPONSIBLE for teaching people that you shouldnt plagurize! Plus, its more annoying when 12 year olds are begging for credit on their project about scratch cat spinning in circles

But why can't Scratch teach it too? If you learn something in more than one place, it reinforces it and makes it more likely to remain engraved in your head.
