About
This shop was founded on the 20th of May 2016 by @JakeCarroll. We joined The Shop Federation, which later closed. We soon grew to 19 members. We remained active until April 2017, completing many orders, and then became very inactive. There were no posts here for 10 months. However, in February 2018 we became active again. 15 of our original 19 members became inactive and we dwindled to 4 however we quickly gained a couple of more. We joined the USS. We started getting quite a few orders most of which we completed. Within a few months we grew to 12 members. We had 3 reps in the USS. @JakeCarroll's new account @FloatingMuffins took over the shop. In June 2018, we introduced elections for our USS reps. It was around mid 2018 when many long time members such as npjensen, pinkiepie710, congyingzhou and tarekzaki joined. We simplified our shop structure. We soon joined the SPA and entered a partnership with Toadcodes Music Shop and TIPS. At our peak in late 2018, we had over 50 members. In October 2018, FloatingMuffins became very inactive and The Emerald Shop 2.0 was founded by npjensen and pinkiepie710 in December

Proposing a new rule/suggestion to the shop
If you are a normal member:
1. The proposal must have the support of two other members
2. It is debated by the board of directors.
3. It is voted on by the board of directors (it needs at least 50% support in order to pass to the next stage)
4. It is debated by the shop.
5. It is voted on by the shop. (it needs at least 50% support in order to become law)

If you are on the board of directors:
1. It must have the support of one other person on the board of directors.
2. It is debated on by the entire shop.
3. It is voted on by the entire shop. (it needs at least 50% support in order to become law)

New System for Activity Checks
We will introduce a new system for activity checks. There shall be activity checks roughly every 4-6 weeks. You will only have one week to respond to these activity checks. You will be notified on your profile. If you do not respond you get one strike. If you get three strikes you are fired from the shop. If you are on the Board of Directors, you need four strikes to get fired. Every 6 months your number of strikes is reset to zero.

Introduction of Subscription System
This shop is introducing a system where you will be notified on your profile occasionally.

If you are a staff member you will be notified when:
- you have been promoted/demoted
- you have been fired
- there is an activity check
- you are employee of the week
- you have not completed an order
- other important news

If you are a customer you will be notified when:
- your order has been taken
- your order is nearly done
- if the staff member doing your order has any questions/problems
- if your order may be late
- when your order is done
- there is a request to complete the customer service survey

NOTE: All employees and customers are automatically part of this. However, if you do not want to receive profile notifications just tell us.
