Sonic 2 Tails AI?

I want to add Tails to a project called “Genesis Sonic Engine (Ver. 1.3)”, but I do not know how to. I tried making a copy of Sonic, but that won't work, because the camera would get mixed up. If I made the camera variable specific to Sonic, Tails would just stay in the same spot on the screen. Sonic.exe flying towards Sonic is easy, because Sonic.exe doesn't follow the rules of the camera. He would act like he does in “Ordinary Sonic ROM Hack”, but he doesn't change the dimension and points towards Sonic instead of just going to his Y plane. Also, his sprite would look more like it does in the Sonic.exe recreation, which is Metal Sonic's second-final flying state instead of very last. Anyways, back on the subject of Tails, how do I get the camera to focus on Sonic, but still have Tails visibly moving and actually on the ground, and I'm also stumped as to where I would get his flying animation. I'd get his animations that Sonic does from an existing <remix/game made off> of the <project/game/engine>, but what about the flying sprite? Also, I'd need a High-Definition sprite of Sonic, but I have that covered, too. Anyways, any help with any of my problems?

In the future, always share the project and give us the link. It's way easier, and we can be more specific to your problem. Now, to address your issue:
This forum post of mine has a link to a project that should be able to solve your problem, but basically you have to subtract either tails x and y from the camera. Either that or its the either way around. I know its right in the project.

I need one that moves like Sonic, okay? That one moves nothing like Sonic. Thank you!

Don't use the AI, as thats terrible. Just use your Sonic's AI, but use the rendering from my project. Obviously that AI is atrocious…

But Sonic himself has two different sprites: the sensor and the animations. He also has a specific spindash animation for him, but I won't have a problem adding one for Tails. I just don't understand enough about Scratch programming to do it.

Well, take a look at the code of my project, and try to figure out how you could apply it to sensors and Tails.

Actually, Tails has a half-AI. He doesn't completely do his own thing. See, I'm trying to make it like Sonic 2. Tails imitates what Sonic does most of the time, but at others, he'll show you what he thinks is needed to do to complete the stage. In other words, Tails is a player 1 and an AI player 2.

i here hat when tails goes off screen he automatically flies to sonic.





tails + sonic (on screen) = tails secret A.I.

JoseyB, I know that. I've played Sonic 2, on a PHYSICAL SEGA genesis. Not many people born in 2006 get that chance.

Sonic can never be an AI character, and Smash Wii U is not a Sonic game.

wat about the one sonic game wee you don't play as sonic, is it silver? or am i making up sonic games?

Oh yeah. A 3D Sonic game. I'm talking about 2D ones. I would call you a not-so-nice name, jo, but you already said you never played a Sonic game before. There's also one where you fight him as Knuckles, but that's also 3D.

oh by the way, i know were to find actually decent tails sprites. in fact, i can use it myself, I'm also tinkering how to make tails half A.I while sonic is eat moving but the ground is.

in order to access the sprites, look up “projects by joseyB” go to shared projects, click “sonic,tails,kirby, and mario sprites”. click “see inside” and upload all the sprites you want. i also have green hill grass.
