I think you are right based on the last letter of their names. In some languages, such as Spanish, nouns ending in O are masculine and nouns ending in A are feminine.

I also just noticed something…

Tera and Giga are prefixes that mean a power of 10 larger than 1, and Pico and Nano are powers of 10 less than 1. Not that it really has to do with anything…

I can sort of tell just by looking at them that Pico and Nano are boys and that Tera and Giga are girls. (Especially Giga.)
Also, their names do help.
And, are Nano and Giga related? They look so alike.
