html5 viewer
Hi guys,
Often people ask about a scratch mobile app, and frequently, the answer is that the St are making a html mobile viewer or something. Can someone please explain more about this to me? Will this mean you can play projects on your phone and Tablet?

Yes it does! HTML(5) is what most browsers can run without any extra trouble or plug-ins. Here on scratch, the current editor and viewer require your browser to have the flash plug-in which is no problem for every major PC and Mac browser - but most phones have built-in browsers that do not run flash, so you cant run flash projects.
These browsers, do however have html built-in, so they could run scratch projects that compile into said html viewer.

Currently, there is Phosphorus , which can run projects in HTML5, although there are still some compatibility issues with many of them. It offers speedier performance and mobile compatibility without then need for plugins. The Scratch Team hasn't spoken about their official HTML5 player much, so it I'm assuming it's much of a priority for them.

They are making one, but it isn't a priority. If they do, then you *might* be able to, but it would break projects that aren't optimized for mobile. Hi guys,

There is no big push going on to make an HTML viewer.
iPads can use the Puffin app to view Scractch.
Any handheld device with Flash enabled can view Scratch.
