([ v] of [parent v])It would report a trait of a clone's creator, even if it was created by a clone.

Support, but how would it work if it was an actual sprite?

Support, but how would it work if it was an actual sprite? You must put the block in a script that starts with
when I start as a clonebefore you can pick the option.

But Scratch blocks aren't designed for detecting what hat block they are under.Support, but how would it work if it was an actual sprite? You must put the block in a script that starts withwhen I start as a clonebefore you can pick the option.
I think it just assumes that the parent is itself or the stage.

I think the parent would be the stage. But what would the stage's parent be?

I think the parent would be the stage. But what would the stage's parent be?Probably “Scratch v2.0.444.3”

Support, though I think it should always just report the value of the top-level sprite. There's no reason for anyone to try to get local values of the stage, because the stage doesn't have local values. Also, I think just returning the value of the top-level sprite is more intuitive.

Support
Support. [no reasoning] - It isn't recommended to leave your post devoid of any reason. People, including the ST, get bugged when posts consist of this one word because it doesn't help to show that the author knows why they support. If there is aught worth mentioning about the idea, do add it to your post.

What are the options for the first dropdown?
I can't make a stance or opinion until you reply what they are

What are the options for the first dropdown?I'm pretty sure “parent” is just a new option of the second dropdown of this block:
