To put it more simply, a URL is a website or a page on a website that you can link to. To copy use ctrl-c or highlight, right-click and press copy.

The URL is that web page address located at the very top of your web browser. It always shows what web page you are looking at.
To copy it, swipe your mouse across it to highlight the whole thing and then press <ctrl>C on your keyboard.
Now open a new browser tab and click the mouse in the new address bar and press <ctrl>V and you will have copied the URL and pasted it.

A URL (or link) is used to send a user directly to a website if clicked. For example, my project (listed below) can be viewed if you click the link below:
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/103141841/

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/103141841/

I don't mean to yell, but there's no need to continue answering this question. The creator of the topic hasn't replied yet, but they have the answer they need already. The discussion is basically closed :-)

Then why in the world did you bump it back up to the top of the list? Tsk-tsk! Seems it would have been better just to let it die, wouldn't it?

Spectrum isn't necroposting; the topic is still easily accessible. They are asking people to stop repeating information which has already been given. Please don't “Tsk tsk!” people. This topic has been answered!

It's basically the address of a page on the Internet. Near the top of the page, you'll see a bar with text in it. Often it looks confusing and a bit like gobbledegook, but if you copy and paste it somewhere, people can click on it and they'll be taken to the exact page that the URL belongs to. Does that make sense?
So, for example, the URL of this topic is https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/190532/. If you clicked on that, you'd be taken to this exact topic out of all the ones of the Scratch discussion forums.
Oh, and in the future, make a new topic instead of bumping up an old one :-)

I know they quoted you, but I think they were yelling at everybody else.

Hi there! Please don't necropost on old topics, especially when the post is unconstructive and adds nothing to the discussion. Thanks! What!
