When you switch to bitmap and back, the picture is one item.

Give feedback on paint editor, bitmap mode (1st draft!)
While I was editing the 2nd and 3rd costumes of the scrollbar sprite in this project, I managed to get either the 2nd or 3rd costume to delete itself, leaving a 0x0 sprite in its place. I was editing the text from the other costume, and I switched to the scripts tab, moved around the scripts a little bit. I also might have stopped or started the program, and when I went back to the costumes editor, one costume was gone (0x0). I have not been able to figure out what exactly the problem is, even though in trying to duplicate it, it occurred an additional 2 times.

It's great, but the paint editor on mine is very glitched. I don't know if anyone else's is like that, but the colour palette thingy is overlapping the zoom buttons and the switch to vector/bitmap. And also, the colour palette is off the side of the screen, white and a few other colours can't be selected from it. I hope these get fixed!

To make a combo costume, go into the bitmap editor and do that side FIRST, then do vector stuff and do it on top. Pixels and vector! It IS possible, Failord.
I thought of that later on, but that means you can't adjust Bitmap. It's just plain permanent. And, HEY ST!!! I say that's even MORE confusing to young Scratchers!
Sorry if I'm getting a bit rude, but I had high hopes for this.

Nice job, but I noticed for smaller monitors the color palette and who-knows-what-else is greatly cut off and mixed up. I can only see half of the pink gradient row, and I see some text under it. Looks like one of the words may be “vector”? Also, what happened to the zoom tool? Maybe that too is cut off, maybe not. Overall, I can tell the paint editor itself was designed on a computer with a larger monitor than mine, which is 13“ x 11” (I know it's very small).
I noticed the same thing too…
Otherwise, yay!

everything's good but the bitmap quality conversion from vector seems worse than the bitmap quality in 1.4.
EDIT: nevermind. it just looked bad in the editor b/c it was zoomed in.

One word: Antialiasing.
I love how you made the paint canvas higher resolution than the stage, but some antialiasing would be awesome too smooth out those rough edges.

I still like the vector editor because of its smoothness, but bitmap editor is also nice!
Good work Scratch Team!

That makes sense, because bitmap does not contain information for separate objects like a vector does. When you switch to bitmap and back, the picture is one item.

The paint editor changes the size of sprites when switching between vector and bitmap. You can see the result in my rescue ship, where one of my backgrounds ended up cropped. (Sprite name is x1-y4.)
Also, the sprite image editor really needs an X/Y indicator like the one in the display window. In almost display window size images like images for scrolling backgrounds it's a * to find the center for the pivot point, especially since they can't be maxed out in size as they need to take into account that the edges needs a frame to hide them since they can't go all the way off screen.

I like it! But when you click “convert to bitmap”, it will convert the entire sprite to bitmap and then, you click “convert to vector” and it doesn't convert the whole sprite to vector. But otherwise it's good.

I'm getting the same problem as Spyderblade. On my screen most of the paint tools and features are cut off. If the paint editor re-proportioned itself to smaller screens or had a full screen option I would be very grateful. Barely affects me as I use Paint.NET but others may have the same problem who rely on the editor more.
Edit: Read most of the other posts and it seems many others are getting the same problem. My Screen resolution is 1024*786 with colour at 32 bit.

Thanks. I was considering quitting scratch because of the vector editor, but now I know I'll stay!

Could you make it so the paint tool for bitmap can be different shapes? I want to be able to draw in square pixels.

In Bitmap Mode, the “set costume center” function should snap to the center of a pixel.

I really like the new feature, but there are some things I miss about the Bitmap editor you didn't include, like how you can fill in an area using two colors, and then it fills it in going from one color to the next. Also the fonts and font sizes. Basically all I'm asking for is to make the new Bitmap editor more like the original one.
Sorry if I'm not making any sense.
