Programming Weekly -- Scratch and Technology News!

Hello, and welcome to Programming Weekly! This is a newspaper for reporting on not only Scratch news, but news in technological breakthroughs, achievements and all sorts of things along those lines!

Links to Good Programming and Technology Sites
- Codecademy This site is great for beginning programmers. It teaches programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Ruby and more!
- MIT Main Site This is MIT's main site, which gives updates about technological advances, and information about the college itself.
- The MagPi All about Raspberry Pi.

All issues will be posted on the account called ProgrammingWeekly. Follow to get notifications when the latest issue is out!

Despite the name, this newspaper will release and issue bi-weekly. Experience has shown for me that a weekly newspaper feels very rushed.

Ground Rules
First off, I'm invoking a 3 strike policy. Strikes will only be administered by the deputy (to be determined) and myself. The deputy and I will give strikes to those who break the rules that will be set below. First rule breaking, a warning. Second, a strike. Due to the circumstances, though, either of us may decide to give you a strike on the spot or immediately suspend you from the collab.

First three strikes: Collab suspension for a week.
Second three strikes: Two weeks.
Third: One month.
Fourth: You will be released from the collaboration.

Rules:
1. Be courteous at all times.
2. Get your work done on time. If you are by any means unable to complete your work (other commitments, real life things, etc.), report it to us and we will understand.
3. By no means will we have any unnecessary arguments. Remember: There's a difference between discussions and arguments. Discussions are considered apposing views being debated in a polite matter, whereas arguments are when Scratchers are fighting.
4. No spam.
5. Hassling others for any reason is not tolerated.

Everyone understand? Alright, adhere to these, and we'll be a smooth-running collab.

Sign Ups!
Alright, so what's a collab without members? Just me. And that would not last long. So, sign on up if you happen to be interested! The jobs you can get are:

Hey! I'm sorry about SW, It kinda ran into the ground.
Name you would like to be called as (ex. StarscreamClone would be Surge or Starscream): J or JK
Activity level on Scratch (on a scale of 1 to 10): 6.5
Job(s) you would like to have: Spellcheck, maybe reporter
Do you promise to adhere to the rules above?: Of course!
Tell us a bit about yourself: I was a part of SW, and I love to write. I'm not the best at running large collabs, although I can handle second in command. xD I'm getting pretty popular on here, and I'd like to make up what I lost on SW.

This made me cry. NO!!! NOT THE BOW TIE!!!

Welcome back, jkl0l! It's all good now, and I know what to do differently so things don't explode this time. XD Also, I would suggest running for deputy once we get some more members.

Cool. Yay! I'm glad. That was a pretty hard collab to run, with all the arguments. O.o Yeah. That's why I said I couldn't handle it, and why I resigned.

Well, it's a fresh start, so let's not talk about it and start more arguments. Things will be run a bit differently, but I think we'll be successful this time through.

'Tis alright. And I think opening it up to technology in general is going to make reporting a LOT easier, as so much is being advanced in the IT industry. Plus, it's a programming site, so we need one of these. XD

Yeah! It's a cool Idea. I love anything having to do with technology. :\ -I may or may not already be watching video lectures from MIT about the field I want to go into- xD It should be easier to report for- I'm an admin on the scratch Facebook page and that's hard enough! There's not much going on updates-wise, and I have to figure out ways to keep the site active. x3 So scratch is getting harder to write about. I like the idea of having it be about Tech stuff, too.

The best part? We can go sniffing around for sites to link to Scratchers interested in the IT field, like Codecademy.

I want to program AI someday, by the way. :3

Cool! :3 I can read small print.
Funny, I just got started in codeacademy. I really want to be a Mechanical engineer when I grow up. :3 I've considered AI as well, but I prefer Mechanical and Chemical Engineering.

Great to have you guys back! Already we've got a great team here, and I think this will be a successful run! One more member, and we can move on to deputy elections.

Just a note: You guys all checked that last bit in big, red letters on the first post, right?

Epic!

Actually, we can get started today with articles and such if you guys want.

ALSO, we should start working on a new template for this. I got inspired by thejuki's update projects, so we could do something along those lines.
