Am I the only one who dosen't think that E.T. the Extra Terrestrial is a bad game?

I kinda can't stand any Atari games. The sound card is terrible and the graphics are um, terrible. Pitfall is like the only decent Atari 2600 game.

I haven't played E.T for the Atari but I can tell you this wasn't the only thing that caused the video game crash. -N-

I've seen worse games on the 2600, mostly the sport games, and Raiders of the lost ark made no sense. People obviously just blame it for the crash because out last few games released before the crash, it was the worst. And besides, the only element that really is bad is the challenge, there is non. People just need to look deeper. Also, the youtuber caddicarus actually has a similar opinion.

The reason it happened was because there wasn't “one terrible game that's worse than eating vomit”, there were “tons and tons of so-so games for the atari.” E.T was just the final straw, so to speak. It didn't help that it was rushed for Christmas , either.

Of course it is. It was made way back in the 70s.

E.T The Video Game is Bad. SOOOOOOOOOOO Bad. But I still play it! I mean, LOOK AT E.T IN THAT GAME! I don't really know Anything about the film. But I know the videogame is bad.

I actually from the looks of it, E.T doesn't look that bad. I think I may like it.

My mother used to own the game. Though not anymore.

I did a paper on it for school. Well, not necessarily the game itself, but the crash that it was a cause of. I played an emulator of the game, and the number one thing I hate about it is the holes.

That wasn't because of E.T. There were many commercial successes such as Centipede found in that desert, as well.

The video game was actually fairly good; keep in mind it was programmed by, like, one person in a tiny amount of time. With that kind of limited technology back then, would you have been able to program that entire game in a short time? Probably not. That same guy also included a bunch of easter eggs inside of the game for players to find. However, Atari had been falling for quite a while, and since so many people loved E.T., the game just seemed like a downgrade for them. Then, Atari just died.
