Have two language options: American English and English!
Okay - so this annoys me but maybe not so much for many Americans out there I guess

These memes don't describe it exactly, but I'm really fed up of the ‘English’ language option having ‘favorite’ instead of ‘favourite’, as this is American English, not British (or the proper) English. All I am saying is that the Scratch Team to add an ‘English’ option where everything is spelt with ‘u’s (favourite, vapourise), as it annoys me and may confuse younger children, as well as an American English option where everything is spelt the way it is now.
Also, it would be great if the different languages had the different timezones, because, it's 07:18am and my messages are saying the time is 2am… what?

Support for both ideas. Though I don't think it's necessary, it would be very convenient for us English-speaking Scratchers outside the US.

What idea do you think is not necessary?

I myself wouldn't mind if it's either (or mixed?) because I am not a native English/American speaker (nor my language consists of any letters in the alphabet!). However…

Both of them. And I don't mean it as in “It definitely doesn't need to exist”. It's more in the sense that I can cope even if this idea isn't added, however I think this would be an absolutely splendid addition should the Scratch team decide to incorporate it.Support for both ideas. Duplicate
Also, since Scratch is developed and ran in USA, the British English option should be called “British English” while American English is still called “English”.
I feel like those are a little offensive to Americans.

No support, British English is just words like “color” with “u” added into them. It isn't necessary since the changes aren't that big, and besides, Scratch is developed in the USA

British English and American English are dialects - they don't really have massive differences that make it hard to understand.
No support - Scratch is also from the US anyways.

I remember when I about 7, I had a spelling test at school and one of the words we had to spell was colour. I spent a lot of time on the internet (where colour is spelled color most of the time) so I spelled it color because I was used to seeing it spelled that way, and it was marked wrong because I live in England. I also know some other children who spell some words the American way because of the internet. I support this suggestion, as this would help children and other people get used to seeing words being spelled how they should be spelled in their area.
(Also, if anyone is wondering why I had my own laptop when I was 7, I admit that I was a little spoiled.)

There are too many English dialects, so why add one more (UK English) just because of a spelling difference? There's no difference in translations.
Also, no English is ‘the proper english’.
I'm not sure what time zone messages are on (certainly not PST, anyway) but it should probably be changed to UCT if it isn't already.

British English is not a dialect, in fact American English is a dialect of English, and British English doesn't exist seeing as it is English….
American English is English spelt differently.

In fact, American English are the British words with the ‘u’ taken out of them - not added in. English originated in the UK - so we didn't add anything.
