Better Bitmap Paint Cursor?
Hello! I've been working with the bitmap sprite costume editor for a while now, and I'd have to say, losing my cursor is quite frustrating. If I'm coloring white or light grey, since the cursor is only a circle the color I chose, it blends in with the grid behind. Or, if I have any other color and am using that color currently, it will blend in like before, causing an irritating experience.
To fix this, I suggest a cursor like GIMP's, (GIMP is a free image editor, quite nice to use) with the 2 shades of grey in a dotted-line pattern, in a circle. It would allow people to see on no matter what color they choose, thus making Scratch's bitmap costume editor much more useful.
Just Another Coder,

Better yet, for the first situation at least, replace the background colors with something that isn't in the default palette.
Either way, this frustrates me to no end and I'm glad someone else is taking issue with it. Support for whatever makes bitmap usable with all the colors on the grid.

You said what I was going to say, but better. Better yet, for the first situation at least, replace the background colors with something that isn't in the default palette.

Support! I used to use bitmap, and this was one of the reasons I switched to vector.

I love bitmap and this has always been an issue. It's not hard to just paint fill the background in another color and then remove it when you have your drawing done, but I still support!

Better Bitmap Paint Cursor?
While we're on the topic of paint cursor issues, can someone tell me where exactly the “center” of the bucket cursor is? As in, the place it clicks. Like, the default cursor clicks with the tip of the arrow, the text cursor in the middle of the vertical bar, the pointer with the end of the index finger, etc. What's the analogue on that bucket icon cursor?

Hm… I'd always assumed it was the tip of the dripping paint. Never had problems with that, but I dunno.
