Should seizure-inducing GIFs be reported?
I've seen many Scratchers with animated GIFs with flashing colors in their logos and/or studio thumbnails. Are those really allowed? Can they be reported?

They aren't offensive.. I don't see the need to report it. I've seen many Scratchers with animated GIFs with flashing colors in their logos and/or studio thumbnails. Are those really allowed? Can they be reported?

Rapidly flashing colors can lead to seizures, though. They aren't offensive.. I don't see the need to report it. I've seen many Scratchers with animated GIFs with flashing colors in their logos and/or studio thumbnails. Are those really allowed? Can they be reported?

Should seizure-inducing GIFs be reported?
Definitely. Stuff like this shouldn't be appearing anywhere in the website, due to the chance of being a person with epilepsy looking around.

If it's really flashy, yeah.

Idk, it doesn't seem right for the person who put up the icon to get in trouble, unless they were purposely trying to cause a seizure, but that's just my opinion.Rapidly flashing colors can lead to seizures, though. They aren't offensive.. It doesn't seem right for Scratchers who suffer from epilepsy to risk their lives while accessing this website. Idk, it doesn't seem right for the person who put up the icon to get in trouble, unless they were purposely trying to cause a seizure, but that's just my opinion.

I understand that, but if it was unintentional, they shouldn't receive an alert for it, the icon should simply be removed. But now we're just getting to be off topic here, so let's just stick with yes, report it, and carry onIt doesn't seem right for Scratchers who suffer from epilepsy to risk their lives while accessing this website. They should be reported, but the report should help the Scratch Team find the gifs and remove them if they need to. I don't see why the person who created the flashing gif profile picture should be banned.
However, if your idea does get done, the person should be told why their profile picture has been deleted in case the person misunderstands (the person could be a new Scratcher).
Also, it could help if you put it on a ‘Suggestion forum’.

Should seizure-inducing GIFs be reported?
I'm not suggesting anything, but rather asking if the Scratch Team already accepts such reports.

Should seizure-inducing GIFs be reported?
Well, I don't think it's right to report someone, because it wasn't meant to be harmful, but I would recommend notifying the user and telling them to take it down. Reporting them is too much of a bug deal, and you might also get an alert because it still follows the community guidelines.

How could something potentially harmful to certain Scratchers follow the guidelines? People should put a warning in their notes and credits/instructions/title. There should be a warning in the project, too. It sounds like a lot of work, but people need to be conscientious of other peoples' abilities and disabilities. I would suggest first informing the user to add a warning if there is nothing, and if no initiative is taken then the said project should be reported.

I think you can just politely ask whoever has the flashy GIF to take it down, or make it slower and a little less flashy so users with epilepsy don't get seizures. If they say no then… well I don't know. Hopefully if an ST member posts on this forum topic you might get an answer.

I think they should be reported, but the actual Scratcher not banned… Also there has to be a threshold I guess? Or maybe a warning when you change your profile picture.
WARNING:

DO these count? To be on the safe side, I would report all *really* flashy ones… Or just ask the user to change it…
