Um… Scratch has multiplayer games and it doesn't have any age requirements.you probably have to be thirteen because it's multiplayer or something.WHY NOT?Oh my gosh yes exactly!I know, right? It's weird. Why isn't it eleven? That's when kids get their letters, after all.I think you have to be 13, which is stupid, since there are Harry Potter fans that are younger than 13. And there is nothing inappropriate on Pottermore anyway so I don't know why they did that. #confused wait how old do you have to be to make a potter more account because im trying to make an account i think I have to be 11

Regarding the Pottermore update, it's been this way for months and I always preferred it over the old one. It doesn't just have articles; they reintroduced wands and Sorting, and there's an upcoming Patronus test in the works. It's got a lot more fresh reading content as well.
Potter is great in that it appeals to so many age groups. Let's face it, though— there's a pretty big maturity chasm between Year 1 and 7, so you're unlikely to read the latter book to a six-year-old. Since the new site is targeted more around my generation of young adult fans that grew up with the book releases, it seems sensible to have an age restriction.

That doesn't mean younger kids don't read the series though- I first read the Harry Potter series (all 7 books) when I was in 2nd-3rd grade. Yes, younger kids do read them. When the old Pottermore site was launched, it was targeted at the next generation of readers, basically children. The majority of registered users since were found to be young adults, however, and it is not realistic to cater to everyone with the slightly more mature direction the website has taken.
One small thing that comes to mind is Molly's famous quote to Bellatrix. A few of the newer articles mention it whereas this was entirely avoided on the old site. It's minor stuff like this that may not seem like a big deal really, but we know that's tacky territory for some.
Still, if anyone below 13 tackled the books without a problem, no worries since you can easily bypass it with a different DOB; I was 10 myself when the last book came out and I read it. I guess it mainly serves as a warning than an absolute cut-off age for readers.

My favorite characters are:
1. Harry Potter
2. Voldemort - He isn't just like a boring villain. He actually has a motive and a back story which makes him interest me. Not just like “I wish to take over the world, i'm not sure what i'll do after that”
3. Dumbledore
4. Sirius
5. Fred and George
I feel the same way about Voldemort
