How do users define someone as famous?

Ok yes, this question may sound weird, but I would like too know how YOU define someone as famous. Just say your opinion, because I am interested in how the community perceives someone as a somewhat idle. If you have no thoughts on this and think that everyone is just as popular as each other/everyone is deemed as equal, then just say that you see all Scratchers as equal, but for those who do have a way of seeing someone as famous, how do you know?

>999 followers, OR consistently getting 50+ loves/1000+ views on a project, OR being really active on the forums with 1000+ posts.

But that's just how I define someone as “a lot of people know them”.

edited to be “or” instead of “and”

I think I have all those except >999 followers. Basically, once you get front-paged once, you gain 100 followers and become pretty popular. The forums helps more than people think with signature ads.

How do users define someone as famous?

I think someone famous is really just someone who has many loves, followers, and stuff like that. Right now I'm DEFINITELY NOT famous! I only have 1 studio, 2 Scratches, and 0 followers! [Excess emotes removed]

No one joins right away and becomes famous. It takes months and even years of hard-work and activeness. That's what many don't realize. And on the other hand, fame is unimportant.

A user you can ask people about and over half of them would have heard of the user.

Whoah, dude! You can't be “famous” in 3 days! You need to calm down and just think. If you want people to see you, shouldn't you try making more projects?

How do users define someone as famous?

I would say that someone who is famous is someone who most Scratchers who have been around the website for at least a month or two would recognize. For example, if I said on my ‘About me’ that I'm WazzoTV's sister (i'm not, by the way. XD), everyone would be like ‘Cool! WazzoTV makes awesome projects!’ or ‘Liar!’ XD But everyone would recognize that name. Same goes for ThePancakeMan, Lightnin, kewl999… Yeah

Someone who is:
One the front page
Has a really popular game, (I'm talking a few thousand views/likes)
Has a ton of followers
Pops up everywhere (forums, studios, games, on the wiki)
Someone who is me! (just kidding)

How do users define someone as famous?

Common factors among “famous” Scrathers:

-Good to decent projects (good art, sound, and gameplay: the magic 3)
-At the very least 100 followers
-250+ views on all of their projects
-Nice to people
-Good logos/project thumbnails

Hopefully that will help with your….. whatever you're doing.

Nobody is really famous, like Codegirl101 said.
But I may call the people famous…
  • Who shares “really” good stuff
  • Who is kind, appropriate, helpful and who isn't cocky
  • Who doesn't say FOLLOW ME, LOVE etc.
  • Who doesn't brag a lot with everything about himself / herself
I don't care love, fave, view or follower count.

How do users define someone as famous?

I don't judge people by followers anymore, but I'd say most of the community thinks that someone's “famous” or well-known once they pass 300 followers. 300 is kinda the “make-or-break” point for a scratcher, I've heard. A famous scratcher is usually very kind or modest, though some are a little rude and gain followers by being on the line, almost inappropriate for Scratch. Most famous scratchers either have funny projects, cute projects, or professional projects, though there are some exceptions.

Well, it depends on the scratcher.

For a scratcher who has 5 followers, 40 seems popular.

For a scratcher who has 40 followers,120 seems popular.

For a scratcher who has 120 followers, 700 seems popular.

It really is all relative. It is just too arguable to label which scratcher is popular and which scratcher isn't, most of the time.
