New Forum – Open Source Projects!

Hey everyone!

We just wanted to let you know about a new forum now available on Scratch – the Open Source Projects Forum! Here you'll find any and all discussions and announcements relating to Scratch's open source projects.

Also, we would like to announce that the Scratch web client – the new front end for the website – is now an open source project! You can find out more information on how it works here, and how you can contribute to it. It's a work in progress, and we really look forward to having more contributions from awesome Scratchers like y'all.

If you have any questions about the project, don't hesitate to post in the open source forum!

Can I just clarify something?

This forum is for discussing open sourced projects endorsed and lead by the ST, not Scratch related open source projects which aren't endorsed by the ST and lead by the community?

Since this is a forum for the more advanced users, maybe it should be moved a bit lower on the forum list so we don't have new scratchers jumping into the first sub-forum they see and asking questions about how to add a sprite?

I don't really think this is an issue.

i see this as an issue. I really want to make my own scratch website that only the AT can use because, well, i want people who know more than programming and will make higher quality projects.

Seconding that, please move the forum. Advanced Topics would be a good place. You could also add a “Development” category under interests beyond scratch with ATs, Open Source, Scratch Helper Groups, Developing Scratch Extensions, etc

Cool forum though and maybe I'll contribute a thing or two

Wow, this is fantastic! I can't wait to see what gets created there, it'll be good to have a little more separation between what appears in AT and the rest of the site.
