Intro

You don't know how it happened.

You don't know why it happened.

And you really wish it hadn't happened.

It is the year 2813. You live in the New Age of people - more advanced, more intelligent than the last. Most of the advances that have happened in the past 8 centuries are changes that help the people. At least, that's how it seems. There are new science institutes all over the cities, most of them researching the human beings and how to help evolve them even more. They monitor every last human in the world.

So you weren't too surprised when you saw them walking along the beach that you were walking on that one evening. That evening… the evening that changed your life.

While you were walking along the shore, something happened. Something strange, completely abnormal. Almost magical, perhaps. You don't know how you did it. It just… happened.

The scientists saw it. They ran over to you. As you tried to run away from them, one jabbed a needle into your arm and you passed out.

When you wake up, you are disoriented for a minute. Where are you? Then everything comes flooding back. The beach. The happening. And the scientists. You look around. You are in a circular chamber, about 6 feet in diameter and 8 feet tall. The floor and ceiling are hard and white. The walls are made of glass, but they are clouded so you cannot see out.
You stand up. You are dressed in a simple white and silver outfit. There are strange metal bands around your wrists, ankles, waist, neck, and head. They seem to be embedded in your skin, and they have strange golden designs on them that seem to be wires, like in a computer.

As you are looking at everything, the glass suddenly clears. A man in a white outfit holding a clipboard is standing in front of you. A scientist. He smiles at you in a manner that makes it clear that he can, and will, do anything he wishes to.
“Welcome to AbstractBlue Laboratories,” He says in an authoritative voice.“I am here to do your preliminary voltage testing.” You wonder what that is. He sees your expression and smiles again.
“This is a testing to see how many volts of electricity you can withstand without passing out. This test is done for security reasons.” thing out of his pocket - a remote? He presses a button on it and your life turns into extreme pain. After what seems like a year, but is probably only a second, it stops. Your vision is wobbly and your head hurts.
“Hmmm, not enough,” the scientist says. He presses another button and the pain returns, but only for a moment before you black out.

Summary
You live on Earth 800 years in the future. After something you did, a bizarre, almost magical occurrence, you are taken by scientists. They have found many like you who have exhibited strange powers and are trying to figure out what happened, how it happened, and what to do about it.
When you first arrive you have metal bands fastened to you in certain places, which the scientists use to control you and make sure you don't stray where you aren't supposed to.
After your “preliminary voltage testing,” you are allowed to leave your chamber. It is one of many along a blank, white hallway. At either end there are heavily locked an guarded metal doors.
You start to meet with the other test subjects. Every day or two you are warned by a small shock to return to your room, where you are then taken away for “testing.”
The testing is done by a few scientists who are trying to make the “Happening,” as they call it, occur again so they can better understand it. This is done in a manner of painful methods.
After each Testing you are returned to your room. You want to cry, but you know you shouldn't.
