Tech & Info Literacy according to my school:
- teaching everyone how to do basic stuff.
- making kids write 20 paragraphs about rainforest animals in less than ten hours of total school time.
- making one wing of a school in sketchup (one day project given five days)
- when done with work, you can only play coolmath-games.com, which is in no way educational
- it took a whole lesson just to learn how to “properly search something on the internet” using not enough keywords to pull up what you want (#LessonWasted)
In my old school, most people knew how to search something. We would need a lesson on searching appropriately on the internet.
Also, coolmath is not cool. It's an ad infested site, the equalivent of tinypic for games.
coolmath is the only way that i can play the Papa's games.
I know. Try adblock

My teacher made me 3 Sonic cards and I have to give up one whenever I say something Sonic related in the middle of class. If I run out of them, I'm done with Sonic for the whole day. MY TEACHERS WANT TO CONTROL MY SONIC TALK AND I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THAT!!!!!!!
My science teacher did that for a kid in my class for mixtape/hairline jokes. My Social Studies teacher made a three question limit for a kid in my class as well who asks kind of stupid questions and stuff all the time, usually about things that we just went over or that aren't or are irrelevant to the class. Or he shares stories that may or may not be applicable to the topic. But aside from that, why would you just say sonic stuff in the middle of class? Wouldn't that get awkward?
I agree. it would probably get awkward. The reason why I only had 1 friend at my old school is because I like sonic and mario. (why do kids just like to play blocky games that just end up getting boring these days.) offtopic EDIT: scratch decided to give me a 404 while posting this reply.
Minecraft actually is pretty fun, since it basically says, “Okay, hears this endless world and your hand. Go have fun.” and lets you do whatever the heck you want. If you want to kill the enderdragon, go ahead. If you want to make an automated meat farm, do that. If you want to farm/fish, you do that. If you want to make giant statues of inappropriate things or phrases, you do that. No one's stopping you. It's a giant sandbox. It's why people like me also like things like kerbal space program or besiege or simpleplanes. Or legos.
But EVERYONE was either playing minecraft or some medicore dianosaur game and at one point people were talking about minecraft so much that they made a rule. The rule was if you talk about minecraft during the lesson then you would miss break. (I live in the UK so idk if other countries get break.) and I also liked minecraft for awhile. but it just got boring. now I think roblox is better.

At my old school once you were done with work on the computer you usually get to go on anything thats not blocked.

Blocked sites at my old school:
youtube
bing (stupid idiots thought that google was blocked. but the default search engine was bing WHY??!!! why make a blocked search engine the default one?)
deviantart
newgrounds (even if it has age ratings. maybe some kids that never heard of age ratings will not know what E or T means.)
Realm of darkness was blocked for no entire reason
Wikia
Most sites containing blood games (but some still aren't. they were big idiots for not lisitening to me saying that happy wheels needed to be blocked.)
I'm not sure but I feel that even if MiniClip wasn't blocked you still couldn't play games on there.
You WEREN'T alowed to download stuff thats not images. (I got round it and downloaded a few games from mfgg without getting in trouble.)
You WEREN'T alowed to log into sites (however scratch remained unblocked and I logged in there once.)
Also just like any other school my old one doesn't know what “Scratch 2.0” is and guess what? THEY NEVER TEACH ME ABOUT SCRATCH. I LEARN'T EVERYTHING AT HOME. AND I KNOW OF THIS SITES EXISTENCE BECAUSE OF MARIO SCENE CREATORS. so yeah. I would not recommend you going to my old school.
At my school there are these kids that are *insert rant about how obnoxious they are but still think they're cool* that are always going up behind people on their school laptops and going “That's some nice Minecraft-tey! Minecraft-tey!”. It's really annoying. Also, by wikia, did they block wikipedia?

At my school, some genius got us banned from editing documents on wikipedia, because people at my school kept trolling. And the ban doesn't end for a few more years.

Those kinds of bans only apply to not logged in users; just create an account.

I know. But they won't allow you to create an account at school, because the ban was that serious. I guess I could create an account at home. But it's sorta funny that kids did that.

Wikipedia hasn't been a problem for us. The problem is everyone ignoring the few teachers who actually inforce using safe search.

That never happened in my old school, but the same consequence would happen if we pretended to troll wikipedia.

In 4th grade, one kid was messing with us with inspect element.
The first time I ever felt like a hacker was the first time I used it lol
It was also what made me make the switch…
TO CHROME!

But anyway, he took this school forum or whatever and made all the posts really trolly…

I used to play with the google search.
Also in 4th grade, two kids altered Google to be a search engine for their own made-up company.
The funny part was that they had acted like the company had never happened less than a week later.
