Will Portal 3 ever come out?
I was mostly wondering if Portal 3 would come out , ever. I've been hearing a lot about Portal 3 supposedly coming out this year but I'm not sure.

Will Portal 3 ever come out?
No, because Valve.
Maybe, who knows? The Portal series is really fun, it would be nice if they made more connections with the Half-Life seried as well, since both games are in the same universe.

Will Portal 3 ever come out?
It could happen, I suppose, but I wouldn't expect it any time soon. Portal came out in 2007 and a sequel took four years (2011). If we see a sequel to Portal 2 (and I see no reason why we would) I wouldn't expect it for at least a few more years.
Valve really don't need the money any more.

Portal 3 will come out after Half-Life 3.
So to answer your question: no, Portal 3 will never come out.

If so, if Portal 3 comes out, Team Fortress 3, Half-Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3, and a new Counter-Strike game needs to come out of the same time.

No, because Valve.Maybe they somewhat overlap the two series in Half-Life 3/Portal 3? I've seen a lot of gameplays of Half-Life with a portalgun, and I'd be pretty interested in seeing it go the other way around.

Will Portal 3 ever come out?
Steam Winter Sale / eye.jpg mystery might lead somewhere. I think the Winter Sale mystery is a dead end, let's be real here.
Eye.jpg is going places tho.
So there's this mysterious image called eye.jpg which has shown up in hidden places on various Steam games (and Kingdom of Loathing, which is not a steam game). Here's the (resized) image:

And look, here it is hiding in Mini Metro (look to the left of the names, it's very faint)

Also here it is in Legend of Dungeon. Obviously, this is more than some freak coincidence:

It's also in Crypt of the NecroDancer but doesn't show up in the game anywhere, it's just in the game files.
What's more, is that each of the places that eye.jpg shows up, a puzzle piece can be obtained. For example, if you click on the Mini Metro eye.jpg, it takes you to a secret map which is actually unsolvable without cheats or glitches. (because of mini metro works, that's nothing new) But if you force it to be solvable, you get this… reward:

In fact, everywhere that eye.jpg has shown up (besides Kingdom of Loathing, which doesn't use the exact eye.jpg anyways), a puzzle piece has been found. Legend of Dungeon's piece:

The Mini Metro map is named “Canberra”, which corresponds to a real city in Australia. A popular theory is that the puzzle pieces can be overlaid onto a map of Canberra. I don't think we've gotten much farther than that. The developer of Antichamber also lives in Australia (but now we're just grasping at straws)
Either this is some really intricate practical joke, but to me it feels like PotatoFoolsDay all over again. And that lead to the release of Portal 2…

Maybe this is why it's been taking so long. Maybe we just haven't found it yet. Steam Winter Sale / eye.jpg mystery might lead somewhere. I think the Winter Sale mystery is a dead end, let's be real here.

I've played Antichamber and I've never seen that icon in the game anywhere. So it probably isn't related

According to the reddit I saw, Crypt of the Necrodancer had one too, hidden inside eye.jpg:

There was also a fourth, inside Magic Circle:

Some people also suggested Kingdom of Loathing may also have it, since CotN's piece was found through datamining. It looks like these pieces are 1/5th of a circle, and KoL would be the fifth.

Portal 3? We don't know. wheres the game?
My guess on why it's taking so long is it's ending up like Team Fortress 2.
Team Fortress 2 was orignally intended to be released in 1998, under the name Team Fortress 2: Brotherhood of Arms. It looked very similar to the original Team Fortress, although this game was never released.
There were then several more changes over the next 9 years, including the rumored Civilian class.
Not only that, but Source 2 is also being worked on, so maybe they originally intended for Portal 3 to be a game for the original Source engine, but then decided to make Source 2?
