Virtual Reality
All VR is a fad right now… until recently virtual reality being mainstream was unheard of.thatwasabitofanitpickThe proper phrasing would be ‘an Android device’. There are no mobile devices CALLED Android, they run Android.I know! I want an Android just to try it out.Google Cardboard is really cool! I got one!I want a virtual reality that isn't expensive.Good thing I read about Google Cardboard yesterday! (Although I don't have an Android.)
Google Cardboard isn't really affordable unless you already have a high end smartphone (Which at least costs about 200 dollars).
But I have a Galaxy Note 3 already, so…
I honestly think Google Cardboard's kind of a fad now. Not that it isn't still relative, but it has really died down on the hype.

For some reason, the Oculus Rift hasn't left such a big impression on me ever since it was announced. It just seems so simple.
Just tack on a few motion sensors, carve out holes for eyes then put a screen in them, then make it look like a pair of goggles. Come on; motion control in video games has been implemented many years ago.
It may be more complex than I think, but if that's not the case, I sincerely hope people won't think of this mechanism as the “next generation of technology”.

well, perhaps that's it, it's more complex
there is a wide variety of different goggles already but imho, the focus should be on all the different VR use cases, rather than the headsets - I mean, check out what virtual reality is good for, beyond games : http://goo.gl/SBZrcUgive the Oculus Rift (or an other type of VR goggles) an other try!

My biggest dream for virtual reality is for education purposes. Amazing 3D unbelievably-real games will be cool, but I can't wait to see children throughout their childhood getting to walk with the dinosaurs and learn about what their studying as if they were there. I see a ton of potential for this technology in that area.
can not agree more! I have tried to summarise the benefits of using VR in education, besides walking with dinosaurs
