Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to work on the project at the same time through the Project Editor. Your best bet is to meet up together IRL and work on the same computer.

You could have others creating the backgrounds, sprites, sound effects and music. These can the ben exported and imported into the main project. Don't forget how handy Backpack can be too

What you could do:

Each of you make a new account for working on this project
One of you makes some improvements to it, shares it
The other remixes the project and adds more improvements, shares it, and so on.
