How do you make an animation
You just draw lots of pictures/frames, (costumes) then run them together quickly using this script:
Or, if you don't want them to loop (they'll start again when they're done) then you can do it this way:

How do you make an animation
If you want to make an animation on scratch, you pick which sprite you want to animate, and then you will need to make multiple “costumes” for that sprite to make an animated effect. I suggest putting the original sprite into “backpack” (click on it on the stage and drag it to the bottom right area of your screen) and then adding a new costume, and using the same sprite you put into backpack, so you will not have to redraw it and it will be more accurate. Then, you need to make small changes as the costume goes on.
Basically, you just need to make a bunch of frames that show movement when you run them really fast.
Think of how a movie maker would animate characters with drawings. The first drawing, then the next is slightly different, and so on. Same thing with costumes. It gets easier as you keep practicing it.
Try it out and look at some other projects with animations, hope this helped!
