after installing latest Scratch version and Adobe Air, my Scratch won't start anymore - Error message is for Adobe Air:
The required native extension is missing for this application. Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance.
What to do?

I'm getting the same problem. I've also tried installing Adobe Air and Scratch 2 on a new computer and get the same error.

The computer is running Mac OSX 10.11.2, the Air version is 20.0 and Scratch is 441.2.

I have the same problem on OSX 10.11.2. It appears to be a problem with Scratch version 441.2.

This is the offline editor, correct?
Someone else just had a similar problem (by my understanding of yours), and reinstalling the offline editor + reverting to an older air version worked.
It will keep popping up though, which can get annoying.

To all of you:
Are you reinstalling the same Air version over and over again?

I solved this issue temporary, and for your reference below,
1.) Finder ==> Application ==> Utilities ==> Adobe AIR uninstaller, to run this uninstaller.
2.) To run Scratch-441.2.dmg, I suppose it was at your download folder, and to process an uninstallation…
3.) ReStart your mac
4.) to get an older version AIR @ http://download.macromedia.com/air/mac/download/19.0/AdobeAIR.tbz2 this version is 19.0.0.241
5.) to install this version AIR, then to install your scratch-441.2.dmg again.

That's what I was saying lol
you need to install the older version of Air for it to work.
So until the editor stops working unless you update Air, DON'T update Air.

It works for me after re-install the older version of Adobe AIR….

download newest version of Adobe Air from Adobe Site and install
download latest Scratch version and install
no reboot required
