We have some exciting news to share! Scratch will be featured as part of Hour of Code, an initiative to encourage students and teachers to try coding for the first time. We're expecting thousands of people new to Scratch, especially December 7 to 13. You can help by welcoming and answering questions from new Scratchers!

We’ve have three awesome activities for Hour of Code: Animate Your Name, Dance Dance Dance, and Hide & Seek - an activity done in collaboration with Cartoon Network! You can learn more about these activities by visiting our Hour of Code page!

This is a very good idea because i know a lot of people who like programming and this will be a huge advantage to them!

Woah, this sounds so cool!

I'm excited that many kids are going to learn basic programming, and also that Scratch is being sponsored by a major television network. Maybe Scratch just hit big time. I anticipate a sharp increase in the amount of Scratchers as the result of Scratch's publicity.
