Now, I am a new scratcher, so what can I say? Right? but I do think that I have an answer;
Firstly, don't be mean, as people will like report you and that makes one not able to get popular (though may make them be infamous like kaj). This means also no spam.
Secondly, I would not do f4f. It will seem unprofessional, as when people see that you have 3000 followers, and have followed all of those 3000 people, they will think something is fishy around there.
Lastly, make good projects. People WILL see this, and will like it. Don't just make a project featuring scratch cat talking to gobo, or something like that.
