Hi. I just happened to notice that whenever I advertise my projects in the Show and Tell forum, some of the projects get loads of views, but it's only actually showing something like 6 people viewing it in the forum.

Take my project Parking Simulator, it's got just under 400 views at the moment (I think) and it only seemed to have a very small number of views in Show and Tell so does putting it in the forum actually have much effect?

Or maybe it's the thumbnails. It seems like my projects that have title pages seem to get more views than the ones with just a screenshot of the game…

It does have an effect, but it depends on a lot of things:
- How much time the topic remains on the first page. You can increase its time by posting and bringing it back to the top.
- How many users are on the forums at the time (more during early morning/late afternoon).
- The appeal of the title: is it eye-catching or interesting. Simply making the title “my project” doesn't say much. Don't make too long/irritating to read like "PLEASE CHECK OUT MY NEW GAME CALLED X SIMULATOR YOU CAN FIND IT AT [link here]"
- Pure luck.

It's actually a very complicated answer. One possibility is that most of Parking Simulator's views come from people who searched for one of its tags. Another possibility is that the 6 people who viewed the post shared the link with their friends outside of the forums.

Hey folks - please advertise your projects by making a new project in the Show and Tell forum rather than doing it here. That way, the discussions are less cluttered and the advertiser gets more visibility on the main forum index.
