Although sublime text is great, you must buy a license to continue using it.
then use FOSS (Free (as in freedom) and Open Source Software) if you get really annoyed
emacs or atom are nice
Geez, what about Vim or Neovim? You people are harsh!

I actually just switched from using Sublime to Atom for my website. Atom has better plugins for what I am doing, such as a collection of very nice SASS plugins that automatically compile SASS files for me.

Avidemux is a an open source video editing software. Pretty good for a free software. (I'll let you be the judge of that though)

SASS?
Wait, isn't SASS like CSS?
Or i'm wrong?

Yes, expect it's cooler than CSS (expect for lack of semicolons).

This is false. You may continue to use Sublime Text for as long as you wish without buying a license. Just press cancel (or escape) when the dialog to get a license is shown.
True, except you legally need to buy a license once you are done “trying out” the software. It's possible, but probably illegal.

There already is a (really comprehensive) list for free developer stuff, see https://github.com/ripienaar/free-for-dev.
I know from experience.
