An option to hide logos

I am annyoed by some logos (won't say what or who), and would not want to see them. There should e an option in account settings
That means no forum, comment, or profile
I doubt this would get support, but whatever

I for one would rather not load so many profile icons on a single page because I don't have much bandwidth for that.

Ideally, I would find it easier to hide all profile icons than select a few. There are thousands of users on this site and none of us have the patience to cherrypick all the icons we don't want to see. For that matter, I don't support listing individual usernames; instead, it may be easier for the server to remove all <img src=“whereever user icons come from.png”>… tags before the user receives it.

Agreed here. Support for hiding all profile pics if optional. Alternatively, many browsers, especially mobile browsers, give you the ability to hide images when loading the web page- not loading the images on a page can save a large amount of time when loading the page. However, this will hide all the images on a page, not just the profile pics, so it's not the most ideal workaround.

What about using the mobile site for the forums?
Hmm, but then I don't even want to use the mobile site on a mobile device. 1/2 support… what if there was a way to “freeze” profile pictures with .gifs? Some of those are annoying.

Support, although I have an idea.

On someone's profile with the About Me, Featured Project, etc. there should be a “Block Profile Picture” option. It replaces the profile picture (only for you) with the default avatar. You could also unblock it by pressing the same button, similar to following.

I also support for a “Freeze GIF Profile Pictures” and “Block All Profile Pictures” under Account Settings.

(For now, people could handle this with a CSS plug-in, but not everyone knows how to use one if they even have access to downloading one, and the image files would be loaded anyway.)
