We are accepting new members of The JC Times! If you would like to be part of the Team, fill out the application below and post it on the forum thread:

1. What position are you applying for? (reporter, advertiser, etc)

3. How long have you been using Scratch?
4. How often are you on Scratch? (Once a month? Everyday? Etc.)

Job Descriptions
• Reporter- For this job, you will be asked to submit an article for The JC Times that you have written once a month. This article can be about anything pertaining to Scratch (e.g. project reviews, Scratch Talk articles, what’s up in the community, etc).
• Advertiser- Every week in The JC Times we feature well made, but underappreciated projects. The job of an advertiser is to find projects to be featured in the JC Times. You will be expected to submit 3 links every month.
The projects you choose should have less than 10 loves and is a functional, well-made project. We don’t feature projects that don’t deserve it. It needs to show that hard work and care was put into its creation.
Please understand that the project links you send us should not be your own.
• Spell Checker- When reporters submit articles, you will be asked to go over them and check for spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors. You will repost the article to the forum thread with your changes clearly marked and explained.
• Art Finder (for lack of a better name)- For the page, “Amazing Art”, we need amazing art to show off. As an Art Finder you will find projects with amazing art. You will be expected to submit 3 links to great art projects every month.
The art you choose to submit should be created by the Scratcher that shared the project, it should show that hard work and care was put into it, and it should fit the title of “amazing”

Would you like to have an ad of yours in one of our issues? Here are some rules about ads: For one of your projects or studios to be put in an advertisement, comment me the link either here or on the latest issue. I rather you not ask for an advertisement on remixes. Please create your own work. Projects and studios will be added only if they are appropriate and not remixes.

I would like to apply for Spelling Checker. I have been using scratch for 2 months, 3 weeks .I am on Scratch everyday. I know JC Times because I am a regular reader of JC Times. I have read all the issues of JC Times .I do commit to getting the content expected of you in on time with good quality and neatness.

5. Do you commit to getting the content expected of you in on time with good quality and neatness? Of course. Neatness is my top priority for spell check. I won the spelling bee at my school a while ago and people started using me as a human dictionary. I can't stand misspelled words.

I guess you could, but problem is that ScratchPress already has a scroll bar and we want to be as original as possible.

Then for the reporter job, just get an article in once a month, including this one. It can be anytime and you can write more than one if you want. You'll post them on this forum thread to be revised. You could write about updates from the Scratch Team, game reviews, interviews with other Scratchers, make a comic, conflicts happening in Scratch, etc. Hopefully this helps!

Can I be a advertiser also ? Well, I get 2-3 Hours to see Scratch . It would be easy for ilpuppet to find the projects !

Ok, here's the game I chose to be featured, and I wrote a little overview of the the game. PS: Sorry it was a bit late. It also might need some edits.
Jetpack Master
In Jetpack Master, you play as a little blue blob thing with a jetpack. The art style is retro and pixelated, made in bitmap. You can also choose the option of 2D or 3D, which only affects the spikes and walls, but is still a nice touch. The gameplay is similar to Jetpack Joyride, where you hold space to accelerate upwards, and have to avoid various obstacles and collect coins. You can also buy new jetpacks in the shop with coins. This is a very nice and polished game, so be sure to try it out.
