Pokemon: The Origin
Pokémon: The Origin is a four episode special about Red's journey through the Kanto region. It's basically Nintendo's “thank you” to those of us who have played Pokémon since the beginning.
All four episodes can be seen on youtube with English subs.

Pokemon: The Origin
My thoughts: This was an amazing special. I liked how this was Red's story. This isn't another version of Ash, it's not Red traveling around with his charmander. He uses many different pokemon, so its refreshing that he doesn't just use a mascot. Pikachu only has one appearance, and the best part is that he's just another pokemon. Another thing about the Pokémon is that they don't feel like cartoony creatures, they feel like actual animals. When they talk, they growl or roar. When they get hit, they get hit HARD and the battles are awesome. My only nitpick is when Red and Green battle, at one point Squirtle jumps on Charmander and bites his neck. Charmander is just squirming around and screaming its brains out. Its actually really uncomfortable to watch. I can handle a lot of gore and violence when it comes to anime, but when you bite a charmander, you have crossed the line. The best thing about this was that it was like the game came to life. Every little detail was put into consideration in the making of this. There are so many small little details that only hardcore fans would notice, so its clear who Nintendo had in mind while making this. Red has an actual story arc. He starts off knowing absolutely nothing about the world of Pokémon, but gradually finds his courage and strategy to battle. I'm going to try to not reference the original anime as much as possible, but Red has accomplished more in four episodes, than Ash has accomplished in 12 years. Just saying.
There are probably going to be two major complaints when it comes to this special, which are the short running time, and the (spoiler) Mega Charizard at the end. And if I hadn't already watched it, I would probably agreed. I, like many other, was hoping that this would be a full series, but after watching the special, I don't think it could be done any better. The shorter running time helps a lot with the pacing, although it glosses over some things I would have liked them to go into further detail (gym battles especially), but overall, it was vey well paced and actually benefitted from a shorter running time by not dragging certain parts out.
The other complaint would be Mega Charizard at the end. You see, there's a certain group of people who really get on my nerves. They call themselves “gen-1-ers”. They are ignorant people who refuse to play any other pokemon games besides the first ones. They don't seem to realize that pokemon has progressed and improved so much over the years. The inclusion of Mega Charizard was, for me, a merging point between what started it all, and the new, fresh ideas we have tolook forward to in pokemon's future.
Well there's my two cents

Pokemon: The Origin
I liked it, but when battling gym leaders, everyone faints in like on hit except charizard. also, mewtwo knocked an articuno out in one hit? NO! JUST NO!
but I liked revisiting red/blue, and pikachu wasn't glorified.
also, did U hear the lavender town music in the tower in part 2?

It was great. I loved how Red actually beat all the gyms and caught the original 151 (except Mew i think?). The fights seemed better and actual progress was made.

Pokemon: The Origin
This was a godsend for me. I have never been allowed to watch Pokemon or play it, but I love it so much! This was my first experience with a pokemon anime (my cousin owns Pokemon X) and I loved it! My parents don't even know I watched it. My favorite character was Blue, I just feel like he is so much deeper then he seems.
