Trainees are allowed to take orders I'm pretty sure. Well at least I was able to when the shop first started!

I feel like while training is good to get to know the system, after a short time it gets tedious when you could be taking orders instead of working on a challenge. Maybe, for training, just link to a bunch of projects showing your skills, and then if it's good enough, accept them?
