Oh sorry, I meant how do you turn a GIF into a bunch of costumes for the GIF frames to be the costumes?

When you upload a gif as a sprite, scratch will automatically split each frame into a costume!
If you want them split into separate images for your own purpose (to put on your own harddrive), try this: http://ezgif.com/split

when you go to create new sprite there is a button for upload sprite and if you saved a gif to your computer from the internet it will upload the entire gif. you can also do it within an existing sprite that already has costumes and it places them on the bottom. NOW here is the cool part…. go to http://makeagif.com/ and you can make your own gifs from youtube videos and other sources. So if you want stuff from a film and it is on youtube you can find the exact scene you want and make it into a gif then save it to your computer then upload it into scratch. that is how i made my death star assault game.
