What Does the Fox Say?

lololol no one made this yet?

Click the link if you haven't watched it: The Fox // Ylvis

First I was like, this is the silliest yet most awesome song I've ever watched.

Then after a couple days it dawned on me. The song signifies that animals must speak, too. In a humorous but effective way, the song symbolizes that we don't know what animals say, so then the “weird chorus noises” are like the sounds that we think animals (in this case, foxes) might make (obviously not). So if a fox were to meet a horse, we wouldn't know how they would communicate, likewise, we don't know how animals talk to one another.

Well that's enough analytical criticism from me, just discuss your thoughts on the best song ever (jk).

It was funny at first but then it got really overrated. They're even playing it at my school, and no one there likes it either. The song came on the speakers during lunch and you could literally hear a collective groan from everybody and then they'd change the song.

What a shame. Meanwhile, I partied to this song with a bunch of friends.

I think you are overthinking it. The song was probably just made to emulate Gangnam Style's success.

why would you leap to that?? its probably just a bit of fun
funny songs have been going on for literally years (remember who let the dogs out? or hitler only has one ball?), it's not the cleverest of assumptions to think it's made for gangnam style's success

What Does the Fox Say?

“”It's the funnest story,“ said Bård, explaining that the two cut a deal with a Norwegian music production company. ”They asked us to do them a favor and we asked them to do us a favor in return. So we thought, OK, if we give them a * idea, and we bring it back to the talk show in Norway and say, ‘Sorry guys, we had our window, we could have made a big hit, but we screwed up and we made a song about a fox, I’m sorry.' And it kind of backfired.“”

i was sort of right

It was funny the first time I saw it, but it's really getting old. Sort of like Gangnam Style.

Funny for the first half minute. Good, but not as good as Gangnam Style.

also it's not really like gangnam style at all aside from foreigners making a super popular music video…. it was more the dance and funky fresh tune that made it popular and funny overseas, this is the weird noises and messed up costumes and general strangeness that made it popular and funny overseas.

btw we do know what foxes say. the video was actually right - they DO say chachachacha chow and wa po po po po pow and so on.

What Does the Fox Say?

Funny how five-syllable tunes are catchy

WhatDoesTheFoxSay
OpPanGangNamStyle
DoTheHarLemShake

Caps at each syllable start

What Does the Fox Say?

It's catchy but annoying, IMO.
