Sorry this was a little later than I expected. I was studying for midterms and decided to take a short break to bring you the post of funny screenshots of Peridot from Catch & Release! There are twelve pictures total (as well as one sound clip).

“I've got no foot!” Yet three episodes later she says they're called ‘gravity connectors.’


She looks like she's going through withdrawal.


The way she yells “Why can't you just leave me alone?” sounds just like an annoyed little kid.


Peridot's confusion at missing her limb enhancers after regenerating leads me to believe that she's never regenerated before. Further evidence that she's probably pretty young.

This is the first time Peridot has blushed in the series. Sorry, Peridot, but you'll have to get over your annoyance at being called cute because Steven is not the only one who thinks that now.


We briefly see Peridot with a cat face again before she drops down on all fours for some reason and starts running. Should I also note that the gait she was running in is similar to the gait that cats run in?


I feel like Peridot was trying to be flashy while she was fleeing and failed.


Peridot is not amused.


But she is amused by her own reflection.


Peridot's hair is weirdly emotive. But hey, adorable gasp.

So that's all for the pictures from Catch & Release. Hopefully I'll be able to post screenshots from When It Rains later tonight. So, “Too Far” everyone, what did you think of it? Personally I'm quite happy that it proved the whole gem hierarchy type thing and showed just how different homeworld is. It's pretty clear that Peridot has been raised entirely on homeworld's mindsets and opinions, but that isn't really anything important nor could it prove any theories. I loved Peridot's apology at the end- it really shows that she's beginning to care about the Crystal Gems.

Indeed. Peridot doesn't seem to think anything of the fact that her views are prejudiced. That will probably be a significant problem if she is going to gain the trust of the Crystal Gems. Letting go of beliefs that one has held for one's entire life isn't exactly easy.

I literally just watched that AMV a few days ago.

My Theory (supported by Dad , Peridot, and the fanon)

Each NAME of a Gem is just referring to a class of gems. So for example, if Pearls are designed to cook clean and sew (or really, clean and carry stuff like sherpas) then even though they call Pearl “Pearl,” all other Pearls are also called Pearl.
Get it?

However Crystal Gems Pearl is more like this:

I now bring you funny Peridot screenshots from When It Rains! Because I'm too lazy to write an introduction, we'll just jump right in.

Anyone else find it a little weird that Steven is comfortable using the bathroom with Peridot in the room with him? I mean, I guess he doesn't really have a choice, but it you would think it would still be pretty awkward, even if she's turned away from him the whole time.


Peridot slams into the wall and doesn't even flinch.


How cute. Peridot is clinging to Steven out of fear.


So is that a tear on Peridot's face or just a long streak of rain?


That face and that posture. They're just too perfect and adorable! XD


It's not the picture that's funny, but rather the dialogue. Apparently Peridot has been using Steven's toothbrush. Assuming oral hygiene is probably not something that Gems have to deal with, this really brings up the question of what she was using it for.


Are Peridot's eyes really distorted because she's getting genuinely emotional, or is she just trying to persuade Steven to take her to the Kindergarten by making a cute expression?


“Oh, yes!” (mid jump)


When Peridot decides to lead the way, she instantly makes both herself and Steven crash land and faceplant on hard ground.


Peridot can't remove the cover and easily gives up, but Steven can remove it effortlessly, and Peridot is clearly impressed. However, that says quite a bit about her physical strength without her limb enhancers, at least as opposed to Steven.


And to close this off we've got Peridot clinging to Steven again after hearing the screech of a Gem mutant.
