Can I load a project I see online?
Hi,
since I am the newbiest newbie you can think of, maybe a dumb question:
to learn more about how to “Scratch”, can I load a project I find online to my local Scratch and explore the script?
Thanks,
scratchcub

Can I load a project I see online?
Yes you can
How to do it:
Click “see Inside” on the project that you want to download, then in the top-left corner is a menu titled “file” click that. Finally scroll through the menu until you see “Download to your computer”, click that.

Can I load a project I see online?
Thank you very much, DotDash!
Wow, what a lot of code I see “inside”. Amazing! However, the files I download are zip-files ending in *.sb2. I cannot open them with my Scratch 1.4. Will I have to upgrade to Scratch 2?
Thanks,
scratchcub

If you want to download into Scratch 1.4, the project has to have been only edited or created in 1.4, if the project is a 1.4 project, then go to the project page, then under the project is the “share to” button, click that, and on the very right in that menu should be the way to download it to 1.4. Thank you very much, DotDash!

If that button doesn't show, then its a 2.0 project, which means you will have to update.
