Scratch Email

Heyo! Pino here!
So I see a lot of users with email addresses devoted specifically to correspondence with other Scratch users, and I was wondering if the ST approves of these or not. I mean, obviously they wouldn't shut down a user just because they have a Scratch Email, but do they have a preference either way? I'm asking because I'm thinking of making one, but I don't want to have the ST have anything against me- yikes ! That's about it Thanks so much!

It's generally not safe to give out an email address (even if it's specifically for other Scratchers) because you have no idea if it's really another scratcher on the other end. Leaving your email out in the open invites anyone to use it, even if you only meant it for one person.

There have been cases where even Scratch-specific or even fake emails have been blocked, I remember a while ago a Scratcher got an alert for posting their Scratch email, with a warning not to share personal info.

I am pretty sure it is against community guidelines: No Sharing Personal Info

Posting e-mail adresses on the website is definitely a no-no. Even if it was a fake one, it would still be best to not post it as the moderators can confuse it with a real one.

It is not okay to share your email address on Scratch.
