Sound files - mp3's - not playing properly
The sound files on my existing projects are not playing correctly. They all played fine on 1.4 and on the old website.
Now, they basically just skip and are not listenable.
This was on multiple computers with Windows 7 with Firefox and Internet Explorer.
It seems like a performance problem, where the files are not processly correctly on the scratch website.
Maybe it's a performance problem on my network but I can't tell.
Here is a project that was not playing the music back correctly for me.
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/2732287/
It may play correctly on your end, and you won't hear the sound distortions and glitches.
However, it's just unplayable on my end at this point, and makes the project useless unless this is fixed.
Do I have to recreate the entire project on 2.0?
Thank you for any help.

Sound files - mp3's - not playing properly
Hello out there..
Has anyone else had this music skipping problem?
I'd be amazed to discover that I'm the only one who's found this. It's happened on
multiple computers and multiple browsers.
I'm really bummed about it. A number of my other
older 1.4 projects with mp3 files are also having the same problem
as the one I linked to. It seems that it happens when animations are happening while the music is playing.
The processing seems to be going step by step through the animations and playing a snippet of the music, then going back to the animations, then back to the music, etc…etc.
The animations and the mp3 files are not coexisting on Scratch 2.0 the way they did on the 1.4 website
and on the standalone client tools.
Someone please tell me if I have to redo all of these projects in 2.0 to make them work.
That would be very disappointing news, but at least I'd know what to do.
Thank you.

This performance problem has occurred on these computers:
Intel Pentium 3.4 GHz processor
2 GB RAM
with
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
and
Intel Core2 Duo E7500 2.93 GHz
with 3 GB RAM
with
Windows 7 Enterprise
Service Pack 1
on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Firefox
I am running Adobe Flash 11.8.800.168 for all browsers.
Thank you for responding. I noticed that the performance problem
DOES NOT occur on my home computer system, which is comparable to both of these
computers indicated above.
Therefore I have a tentative conclusion that there may be a network performance issue on
my end at the school district where I work.
However, since this never occurred with 1.4 at the work computers, I'm speculating that the network issue is in combination with a possible performance problem with Scratch 2.0.

Sound files - mp3's - not playing properly
That looks like a very useful procedure, which I now need to do at least 25 times in an entire computer lab
which has the latest adobe software versions.
I hope that tthis will do the trick so I'll get started.
Is this Adobe's problem, to make their new software backward compatible, or is it Scratch's problem, to make
Scratch forward compatible with Adobe products?
In either case, we are moving forward, not backward in time, so I'm hoping that there will be better
ways to handle this type of issue in the future.
(Perhaps it's just better to use the Java player instead of Flash, which I will also try.)
Thank you for your help.
